0800 043 6644The Pearl Valley Hotel by Mantis is a luxury 5* hotel located on Pearl Valley forming part of the spectacular Val de Vie Estate. The hotel is well known for fantastic polo facilities and is a hot spot for many wineries, which South Africa of course is very famous for. The hotel is only a 45 minute drive from the heart of Cape town, meaning you can easily get into the city and go exploring on a day off from the fairways.
The hotel is fairly small and private with only 38 guestrooms available, which include a mix of 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom suites. All suites come with a private balcony where you can take in spectacular views of the Simonsberg and Drakenstein mountains, while enjoying a drink or two. Modern amenities are across all suites including complimentary wifi, air conditioning, and an electronic safe. There is an open plan living area, allowing guests to have plenty of space to relax and unwind before heading to bed.
Hotel Facilities
The swimming pool at Pearl Valley is a fantastic place to chill out with friends or even enjoy a cocktail and a light snack at the Pool Bar. For those who are energetic, the pool is also great to swim a few lengths, but it is recommended to go early when the pool will be most quiet.
If you enjoy tennis, the hotel is home to two floodlit tennis courts, meaning you can even play in the evenings when the temperature is much cooler. There is also a resident tennis professional and they are available for lessons, if you fancy a few tips or simply just want a playing partner.
Pearl Valley is very popular when it comes to polo and the hotel has their very own Equestrian Centre, which is home to the REC Equestrian Academy, offering full time and part time equestrian training courses.
Dining at Pearl Valley Hotel
The Pearl Valley Restaurant prides itself in outstanding service along with delicious food and an impressive selection of award winning wines. The Restaurant is open all day serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, and offers spectacular views overlooking the championship golf course and the majestic Simonsberg Mountain.
Activities to do
As mentioned, Pearl Valley is very known for it’s wine and the hotel can organise some fantastic wine tasting experiences throughout the Val de Vie Estate and these can be easily booked in with the hotel concierge upon arrival. It is also possible to get tickets to a polo match at the Equestrian centre and these take place during the season from October to April.
What YGT staff say about the Pearl Valley Hotel
The newly built hotel by Mantis sits to the West of the clubhouse. This is more of a resort feel with large apartment style rooms that have a small kitchenette built in. The rooms are incredibly spacious and you could easily spend several weeks here. The large balconies and terraces have views of the driving range and again, the backdrop of the beautiful mountains. Picturesque is an understatement.
