    Penmaenmawr Golf Club

The course plays at 5119 yards which is well below average in the modern era and despite not featuring a par 5, it can still test even low handicappers with narrow fairways demanding accuracy and some blind shots on sharp doglegs. Many of the fairways are split by dry stone walls and can cause trouble for wayward golfers, especially on the 2nd hole. Once you have navigated through the fairways, the approach to the elevated and sloping greens will keep you thinking about your shot selection, with many of them sloping towards the neighbouring sea. For all the hard work that goes into shooting a low score round Penmaenmawr Golf Club, golfers are rewarded with views of the stunning mountains that surround the course as well as the distant Great Orme Head in the ocean. Peter Alliss, one of the most famous voices in golf, said he was extremely impressed by the 'club spirit and picturesque surroundings’ when he visited.Stats:Par: 67Opened in: 1910Tees: Yellow - 5119 yardsRed - 4835 yardsThe clubhouse at Penmaenmawr Golf Club is the perfect base for golfers to return to after a round on the brilliant golf course. Including the typical changing facilities you would expect, it also boasts an impressive bar, serving CAMRA award winning ale and a selection of delicious food, both hot or cold. The club spirit that Alliss refers to is kept through the sociable clubhouse atmosphere, with many golfers sticking around to watch the weekend’s sport on the big screen tv while enjoying a drink with their friends.
