The magnificent parkland estate is the perfect setting for the golf course, which was constructed in accordance with USGA principles. The woodland copses and natural undulations of the local terrain help to create a beautiful and challenging golfing landscape, and the par-70 layout is a friendly test for golfers of all standards.
Shendish Manor offers golfers a relatively gentle opening, with some birdie opportunities in the first six holes, but the closing stretch, spanning the more undulating ground, represents more of a challenge. The free-draining soil results in excellent year round conditioning, and makes Shendish Manor an outstanding option for a golf break.
The accommodation at the lovely Shendish Manor is a combination of the superbly restored original Manor House, where guests will find 18 individually designed, decorated and furnished rooms and suites, all packed with character.
In 2007, Shendish Manor unveiled a brand new wing that is home to 57 spacious and modern bedrooms which are ideal for the needs of golfers. Although the rooms are new, they retain some stylistic features in keeping with the surrounding Victorian manor house, combined with all the most welcome modern conveniences.
In the hotel's Orangery Restaurant, guests will enjoy an extensive buffet breakfast, while the lunch and dinner menus are packed with traditional bistro favourites.

Nice course we should have gone earlier in the year it rained first day pleasant dry day second round, but the course not at it's best due to the time of year, would go again. All in all a nice break.
The golf was very good and I totally enjoyed it but the only issue we had was the buggies that were supposed to be booked for us but the staff were adamant that they hadn’t been and they reckon that this is a reoccurring problem when you book with YGT
The course was in good condition for the time of year, the greens were fast as were the fairways, the rough was ROUGH if you went into it you lost it, but that is what it is for
Gold course was adequate. It was quite a short course. There were no water features which i felt would have been a nice addition. The greens had been spiked with a huge amount of top dress which made putting simply impossible. Clearly this is an annual event in terms of up keep of the greens so we were just unlucky with our timings but the golf course should have informed YGT and that information passed onto ourselves or a discount offered as a result. Golf staff extremely welcoming and friendly.
although a short course, cross falls on fairways are challenging and greens difficult to read
