Staverton Estate is renowned locally for two things: the super greens which are playable throughout the calendar year, and the warm welcome reserved for all those fortunate enough to visit, making it a joy for all who choose it for a golf break.
Since opening in 1977, the parkland layout has matured greatly, and the course has grown and bedded in, with numerous hazards, including lakes and severe bunkers, posing a considerable challenge to all standards of golfers.
The front nine is undulating with some severe elevation changes, making for some tricky second shots. The back nine is flatter but features a great mix of holes, from the gorgeous par 3 12th to the thrilling finale on 18.
Staverton Park's resident PGA professionals are fully qualified to offer excellent tuition for both beginners and established players.
Signature Hole: 11th – Par 5, 554 yards
The signature 11th is the perfect risk/reward par 5 which invites the longer hitters to have a crack at reaching the green in two. Keep your tee shot as far right as you can without over-cooking it into the trees. This will set up an easier second shot; however a stream short of the green, plus a large bunker front-left, will test both your nerve and your ability to keep a fairway wood or long-iron on target. If you are not confident of carrying the stream, lay up short to set up a birdie chance.
Staverton Park's 244 guest rooms are purpose-built to ensure visitors the best in comfort and convenience.
The wide range of bedrooms provides the perfect option for all requirements, and all are equipped with modern amenities such as high-speed internet connection and satellite television.
The hotel's size and facilities, in addition to its proximity to the M1, make it a popular choice for business conferences and outings, but the superb package make it just the place for golf and leisure travellers as well.
The on-site health and fitness club is home to an indoor swimming pool, well-equipped gym, whirlpool spa, sauna and steam room, while there is also a health and beauty salon, specialising in a range of different treatments.
The hotel's restaurant and bar will always offer a warm welcome, as well as excellent dining and a comfortable place for a drink.
Great value and enjoyed the course. Room was a bit outdated and the fan was broken. Called three time to three different people and no one fixed the issue
Excellent evening buffet style meal. Well with it
Very comfortable in pleasant surroundings.Look forward to going again.
Double room comfortable ground floor with view over part of the course Bar ok but choice of beers limited ( no strong beers!! ) Buffet dinner and breakfast good choices and options
Nice comfortable rooms not too small but bathrooms a little dated however value for money
Nice comfortable bedroom on the ground floor .... could only open the window a couple of inches, so suspect could be hot when the weather warms up. Lovely staff, great golf course and the food was good.
Problem with bing told conflicting information about dinner time, resulting in a mad rush after golf.
Excellent weekend, the hotel was comfortable howeververy busy and the staff were rushed so service was slow. However, all the staff were very helpful and accommodating. The food was good, however they ran out of some choices on the Saturday night.
Overall very good food choice for mains could of been better
The hotel itself was pretty nice, bar area was nice in particular with a couple of zones allowing people a bit more room and a quieter zone for those trying to get away from the crowds. Our room was situated of the ground floor and looked out on to the chipping green and 1st tee was which awesome. The room itself was not bad althought the bathroom was a little dated, shower was great pressure but ran hot and cold likely due to being an over bath job attached to taps. Food package wasn’t really for me, reasonable choice on the inclusive buffet although I struggled a bit with the main on the 2nd night, would be a little more to order from the menu which did look nice for the meals I saw go out to others. Didn’t visit the leisure facilities in the end, they are situated at the golf club a short walk from the main building, felt a little disjointed. Always nicer when these are at least connected to the hotel

Enjoyed the course and was made harder due to the wind
Nice challenge. Good greens. Bunkers bit average. But good course for a trip away
Excellent and interesting course. The reason for 4stars instead of 5 is in connection with bunkers which need more sand and also attention to trimming the grass to make a clean defined edge around the bunker. No problems getting around the course as it was well signed and on each tee ground the hole plan was very useful.Thankyou Staverton.See you soon.
Good course for a society visit rough fair but challenging greens quickie but again fair and in great condition
An interesting and tricky course well maintained with nice views. A slight problem in the pro s shop as they were not aware of the discount off the buggy price (ie one for free first day) however this was resolved. The buggies were excellent, clean and quiet.
We were lucky as the two of us had no-one in front of us or behind us until the 14th hole .... when we had to wait a bit on each hole. However, we had been advised that the course was busy, and we normally play quite quickly, so this was fine. Enjoyable course, well kept and look forward to playing it again.
Actual golf was good but when we got there was informed that tee time was now 1.37pm from 1pm and it was near to 2pm when we were allowed to tee off which messed up all our plans. Also the Monday tee time was changed. Also was promised N/P and L/D markers would be put out for us both days, this did not happen on either day. Please arrange for compensation. Regards Paul Cave
Loved the course which was good for all playing abilities. Excellent condition.
Very much enjoyed the course all players able to play and take part from low to high handicap Tom the pro very good help all weekend with little tips for each player great
We played in the windiest of conditions making it a real test to stick to the fairways but this didn’t detract from the challenge of the course. Good variety of holes, very undulating and a challenge to walk for some I would imagine however made for some great views. Course was in great condition, just a single winter tee to play from. Must be said this was for a right hander only, not for us lefty’s as not possible to get s tee in! 1st day was a decent pace but the Sunday was awfully slow, either mix ups in tee booking or probably that and some slow players. We arrived at the same time as 2 4 balls all having the same tee time! Regardless of the few ngegatives I’d play it again for sure, maybe aiming for mid week and or a later tee time
