- 2 Rounds at Ullesthorpe Court Golf Club
1 Night, 2 Rounds
Best Western Ullesthorpe Court sits in the heart of England with handy access from the M1 and M6, which makes it an easy win for a quick UK golf break. You've got a proper four-star country house base, solid leisure facilities and, most importantly, an 18-hole parkland course that asks a few questions on the way in. I'm a sucker for a strong finishing hole and the closer here is exactly that, a proper last par four that can swing the match if you get loose off the tee.
The course stretches to 6,662 yards off the back tees and plays to a par 72, weaving through mature woodland and open fairways punctuated by strategic water hazards. It's privately owned and run by a team who understand what golfers actually want: efficient check-in, a decent breakfast that sets you up for the day, and staff who know the course.
The location makes it a practical base for exploring the wider region, whether that's Bosworth Battlefield, the National Forest, or the market towns dotted across Leicestershire and Warwickshire. You're also within striking distance of other quality Midlands courses if you're planning a multi-day tour and want to mix things up.
Who is this for?
Golfers looking for a straightforward parkland round within easy reach of the Midlands motorway network, societies wanting a solid course-and-hotel package, and anyone combining golf with a spa break or regional sightseeing.
Who is it best for?
Mid-handicappers who enjoy a proper-length parkland challenge, groups wanting quality on-site facilities without the premium price tag, and visitors to the East Midlands who want golf, leisure and dining all under one roof.

A charming parkland layout with something for everyone, the water hazards offer aesthetic beauty and a challenge which should not be underestimated, with the chance to either make or break a scorecard.
Extensively refurbished in 2008, the clubhouse facilities offer that all important ‘19th hole' which serves a good range of freshly made and reasonably priced bar meals all day, along with ample changing facilities and a very well stocked shop run by a PGA professional who is always willing to ‘do you a deal!' A number of cabaret and quiz nights are hosted by the golf club throughout the year and hotel residents are welcome to attend & join in.
All 72 rooms are en-suite and come with multi-channel TV including movie options plus the usual four-star essentials. Standard rooms are a comfortable base after 18 holes, while superior rooms add a bit more space and often a better view over the grounds. If you're making a weekend of it, the executive suites are the step-up, ideal for couples or anyone who wants a separate sitting area and upgraded bathroom. The beds are comfortable, which matters more than people think when you're walking 18 holes a day, and the rooms are quiet enough to get a proper night's sleep before an early tee time.
The leisure club is comprehensive and genuinely useful if you're staying more than one night. There's a swimming pool, spa pool, sauna, steam room and a well-equipped air-conditioned gym for those who like to keep moving between rounds. Two full-size snooker tables provide a decent alternative to the bar if the weather turns, and the outdoor all-weather tennis court is there if you fancy a knock-about. Utopia, the on-site beauty salon, runs a full treatment menu daily, including sports massage. Worth booking in if you've walked 36 holes and your lower back is reminding you that you're not 25 anymore.
There's on-site dining, so you're not forced back in the car after your round. Expect familiar British favourites done properly, with a menu that covers steaks, fish and seasonal dishes. Breakfast is included in most golf packages and offers a proper cooked spread alongside lighter continental options. The bar works well for the usual scorecard chat and post-round analysis, and there's a wine list if you're celebrating a rare birdie on the 18th.

Really helpful, friendly staff, who seem bothered and are one of the reason for us going back to this place. Food was really good, with decent sized servings.

The room was a little dated. The shower was adequate but far more pressure required.comfortable beds. A choice of duvet would be good- summer or winter. Otherwise the room was ok.

The fairways were really good, reasonably springy grass and wide. The greens however were a challenge if you are not used to them being undulating and sloping. Card wrecker at times!! A nice varied course. The golf club staff were friendly and helpful. Well worth a visit.

Our golf society has been to Ullesthorpe several times, because of its close proximity to the hotel and its interesting variety of fairways and greens . It is quite a tough course and can be quite challenging

As average golfers we found it a bit long and tough but we absolutely loved playing the course for the test. Greens are amazing and fast never a straight putt. Fairways amazing
