Bournemouth Golf Review

Meyrick-ParkThis is one of the most eloquent reviews we have had in recent times and as such is worthy of a place on the blog!

Meyrick Park Golf Club

The dramatic amphitheatre of the first hole, where would-be Seves tend to swing too violently in front of an expectant but good-natured crowd of future participants, is belied by the humble setting of a parkland golf course in the centre of Bournemouth. Add the wonderfully-designed par 5  14th and you have some idea of why we will return here. The lodge itself overlooks the 18th green and gives it an exotic feel as you finish up for the day. Any outstanding shots, good or bad, are still being replayed as you walk into the comfort of your room, leaving you to hit the bar without all that baggage and with the minimum time lost.

Bournemouth itself is a frantic melange of colourful, yet scantily-clad good-timers parading up and down looking for the next pop of adrenalin, whether from music, dancing, alcohol or flirting. The variety is seemingly endless – there is an Arabian nightclub with a room out the back to smoke a ‘bong’ of legal herbs, no tobacco involved – and you can pretty much get what you want if you look hard enough, or last long enough.

Finally, no one was injured in the making of this holiday. That’s a tick.
