Happy Thanksgiving! Giving thanks to 10 Great American Golf Courses

As we all know, a thanksgiving tradition for anyone who celebrates this national holiday is to gather around and tell people what you are thankful for so, considering thanks giving is primarily celebrated in America, we thought we would give thanks to 10 Great American Golf Courses.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

No list of Great American Golf Courses would be complete with arguably the greatest of them all; Augusta National!

Pebble Beach may just be the greatest public golf course in the world. It is certainly pretty high up on my Golfing Bucket List!

Bandon Dunes is a relative youngster compared with others on this list but has received plaudits galore since arriving on the scene at the turn of the Millennium.

The Blue Monster Course at Doral is a beast…especially the famed 18th which even the best in the world fear!

The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island is one of the toughest in the world…unless your name is Rory McIlroy that is!

The La Quinta Resort in California is a golfing haven and the Stadium Course is the jewel in its considerable golfing crown.

Pelican Hill has been voted the World’s Best Golf Resort by Conde Nast Magazine, which is a leading authority on luxury travel destinations. The North Course is just a small part of the package.

The No. 2 Course at Pinehurst has hosted more championships than any other in the USA and will add to its tally at the 2013 US Open.

The TPC Stadium Course at Sawgrass is infamous for its island green 17th but the rest of the course is a masterpiece in itself and often unfairly overlooked due to the stature of its signature hole.

Whistling Straits is another relatively young entry here but the Straits Course is a beauty to behold and surely on many a golfers Bucket List. Just watch out for those bunkers…that means you too Dustin!
