Restaurant Makeover For St Andrews Hotel the Rusacks

By March 31, 2010No Comments

Rusacks HotelThe Macdonald Rusacks Hotel in St Andrews, which occupies a privileged position alongside the 1st and 18th fairways of the world renowned Old Course, has announced the opening of new food and beverage facilities for the summer season. The iconic hotel has revamped its offerings, and recruited Adrian Pieraccini, the leading restaurateur, to devise the concept for the new Rocca Bar & Grill and The One Under Gastropub.

These two developments look set to revitalise the atmosphere inside the hotel, and offer golfers a new aspect and flavour background to their experience at the ‘Home of Golf’. The Rusacks has long been a favourite with golfers, providing unrivalled views of the St Andrews Old Course, and the new dining options will only help to cement the Macdonald hotel’s reputation for excellent golf lodgings.

The Rocca Bar & Grill is the flagship development at the hotel, where the concept is an Italian style grill menu, combining the finest Scottish produce, particularly meat and fish, with rich Italian flavours that will no doubt appeal to the travelling golfer. Pieraccini has installed Liam McKenna to oversee the kitchen, who brings with him experience that includes being awarded The Martin Wishart Scottish Chef Scholarship.

Supporting the Rocca Bar & Grill is The One Under Gastropub, the first of its kind in St Andrews and a novelty that is perfectly suited to the tastes of golfers; sumptuous steaks and pies will join tasty salads on a menu that is the perfect complement to the glorious setting. The One Under will also screen major live sporting event, and will be the hotel’s focal point for the upcoming 2010 Open Championship.
