The Forest of Dean course is not ultra-long by modern standards at a little over 6,000 yards, but it will  keep you entertained throughout your round - and a prettier parkland course you will struggle to find. Established in 1973, the Forest of Dean course has matured majestically over the last three decades, winding its way around the Wye Valley and providing some enchanting views over the surrounding countryside.

With rolling parkland, lakes, streams, bunkers and woodland, this undulating par-69 layout provides a challenge to all categories of golfer and is a joy to play. The golf course is well-maintained and feels very mature, with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.

The complex also incorporates a large practice ground, chipping green and putting green, and another bonus is that the course is renowned for its excellent drainage, ensuring great conditions for visiting golfers - one reason it now hosts the PGA West Region Order of Merit tournament, the Forest Classic.

This hotel offers the largest leisure complex in the Forest of Dean. In addition to golf it offers indoor and outdoor bowls, gym, all-weather tennis courts, and an indoor games room with pool, darts and satellite TV.

The restaurant serves superb cuisine, with all dishes homemade using fresh local produce where possible, while the 53 en-suite bedrooms (two designed for wheelchair access) and 3 fully equipped cottages, are positioned in the middle of the golf course, affording spectacular views across the course and bowling green. All of the accommodation is clean and comfortable and includes colour television, hairdryer, telephone and tea/coffee making facilities.
