Though not long by modern standards, the course has some teeth, courtesy of the two large lakes that come into play on numerous occasions. The monstrous 7^th, at 521 yards from the championship markers, has the power to make or break your score on the outward half.

The most memorable holes at Windmill Village are the 10^th and 11^th, where the large lake, home to a sizable coy carp, skirt the fairways.

The family managed Windmill Village has all the comfort of a modern hotel, while retaining the charm of a traditional private establishment. The hotel is fortunate to be situated in a beautiful 400 acre estate, but is also close to Coventry and the superb travel links of Birmingham.

The site is steeped in history, with records showing that a coaching inn occupied the location from 1640, having been converted from the mill that was previously in situ. The claim to fame of the original hostel is that legendary highwayman Dick Turpin was a guest, but it is unlikely that the infamous robber benefited from the same comfortable surroundings that characterise today's hotel.
