Fifteen miles from central London, Coulsdon Manor Hotel and Golf Club sits on 140 acres of Surrey countryside that feels a world away from the city. The Manor House dates back to 1850 and has been carefully restored to keep its period character intact, from the original features in the public rooms to the traditional atmosphere that runs through the property. The parkland course wraps around the hotel, offering a proper test for better players while remaining accessible enough for mid and high handicappers to enjoy. With 42 well-equipped bedrooms, quality dining and a location that puts you 25 minutes from Gatwick and a short hop from the M25, this is a straightforward option for golfers who want a quick escape without the hassle of long transfers.

The best bit is how quickly you can be on the 1st tee from London. If you're putting together a weekend away or a society trip and you don't want to spend half your Saturday stuck in traffic, Coulsdon Manor makes a lot of sense. The estate is peaceful, the hotel has kept that classic country-house feel, and you've got everything on site, so there's no need to organise taxis or hunt down restaurants after your round.

Who is this for?
Golfers looking for a convenient UK break within easy reach of London and the South East, societies and corporate groups wanting a traditional venue with conference facilities, and anyone after a weekend away that combines quality parkland golf with a historic manor house setting.

Who is it best for?
Mid to low handicappers who appreciate a well-maintained parkland course with enough challenge to keep things interesting, groups who value accessibility and a central Surrey location, and golfers who prefer a classic, understated hotel experience over modern resort-style accommodation.

Coulsdon Manor Golf Club

The layout was originally conceived by Harry Colt, whose trademark is best seen at the revered Sunningdale Golf Club, and was inaugurated in the late 1930s. Coulsdon Manor remains in good condition throughout the year, making it a great choice for your next golf break. The beautiful parkland course provides spectacular views of London and the surrounding rolling countryside.

Stretching to just over 6,000 yards, the course is a great test for all golfers. One of the signature holes is the downhill par-3 sixth hole, a testing iron shot played from an elevated tee, be sure to factor is the swirling wind! Be sure to head into the clubhouse after your round, where there is a wide selection of food and beverages to enjoy.

Accommodation at Coulsdon Manor Hotel & Golf Club

Coulsdon Manor's 42 rooms are split between the main Manor House and a newer extension. If you like a bit of character, the Manor House rooms are the ones to request, with a more traditional feel that matches the building. The extension rooms lean more modern and can suit groups that prefer a simpler, quieter base.

In-room, you've got the essentials covered for a golf break: en-suite bathrooms, tea and coffee facilities, a TV and Wi-Fi. Room sizes are in keeping with a historic property, so don't expect huge footprints, but they work well for one or two-night stays, particularly if your days are built around the course. Bathrooms are clean, functional and well maintained.

Downstairs, the public areas keep that classic country-house atmosphere. It's an easy place to gather as a group after your round, whether that's for a drink in the bar or a relaxed dinner without needing to organise taxis. The bar and restaurant give you an on-site option after the round, with menus that focus on familiar British favourites. The dining room overlooks the estate, and in warmer months you can sit outside on the terrace.

The estate itself is a big part of the appeal too, with mature woodland and plenty of green space around the hotel, so it still feels peaceful even though you're close to London. The surrounding grounds are home to an abundance of wildlife, and the views from many of the rooms take in either the golf course or the gardens.

For corporate and society organisers, the venue's a practical choice thanks to its location and its conference set-up. The hotel can accommodate larger bookings and will work with you to arrange tee times, dining and any additional requirements. If you're booking as a group, it's worth asking about room allocations (Manor House versus extension) and about tee time spacing if you want to keep everyone moving smoothly across the day.

The proximity to London's city centre, in addition to the comprehensive conference facilities, makes this a great corporate venue. With superb golf, dining and a location that works for quick overnight breaks as well as longer stays in Surrey and the South East, Coulsdon Manor delivers a solid, no-nonsense experience that puts the golf front and centre. Want to include Coulsdon Manor in your next UK golf break? We can help tailor the stay around your preferred dates, group size and number of rounds.

Stayed in a twin toom. Really comfy bed. Tea and coffee available and television. Basic bathroom but we were there on a golf break so out most of the time. Stayed on a dinner bed and breakfast break plus 2 rounds of golf. Breakfast was great and plentiful. The dinner menu was very limited.

Hotel is showing signs of ageing. Food very expensive for what you get.

Our twin room served it’s purpose but I would have been very disappointed had I booked it for any purpose other than a golfing one. Very tired and uncared feel around the whole building. The 3-course evening meal was even beyond complaining about. 2 party-sized veggie samosas for starters filled by cod loin with vegetables ( barely enough fish to cover a tablespoon- not kidding either!) and a tangerine cheesecake which must have cost pennies to produce….. having said that, the breakfast was worthwhile and service was with a smile.

Great course. Good combination of long and short holes. Greens in great condition

Poor

Bitterly disappointed about the state of the golf course. I was told no course maint would be done but when we arrived we found out after asking the head pro that the greens had been verty drained the week before. The tees were disgraceful and the bunkers were appalling. Your team are clearly not visiting the courses beforehand to assess whether they should be on your books. I would like to speak to an agent regarding my stay as this it the second trip now that we have been disappointed with. I will also be reconsidering going elsewhere to book in the future. DT

This is our 3rd trip to this venue. Course looked a little worn , Im sure this was as a result of the weather the UK had over the summer . The tee's could be improved but overall its a great venue for a golfing break. The course suits all handicaps with some great holes . All our group enjoy the course .

Love this course becoming here for years

On day1 our round took us almost 5 hours and on day2 about 3&3/4 hours. Tee boxes were 2/10, fairways 7/10 and greens were full of spike holes which made putting very unpredictable-2/10. The course itself had some enjoyable and challenging holes. Would like to give it another go one day

fairways and greens suffered from rain over the previous weeks. No buggies on the Saturday and very muddy, cleaning facility also defect but friendly pro shop and still enjoyed the golf. For the price can't grumble

Course set out was perfect. Not too long for the higher handicappers but enough going on for our mid handicappers. Only downfalls on the course were the tee box’s and the greens. Tee boxes were long, ruined and all sloped or lumpy. Greens could have done with a little more care. Expected better for a manor course.
