Set in an area of gorgeous Berkshire country, Donnington Valley Golf Club is home to a traditional parkland course, which has been greatly improved in recent years thanks to an extensive re-design programme.
The 9th and 18th greens are overlooked by the magnificent Snelsmore House, a Grade II listed Victorian House that doubles as the club house. The 6,353 yard layout follows the natural undulations of the landscape, featuring many intriguing and unusual holes guarded by towering trees and treacherous water hazards.
The front nine is the place to make a score because the most demanding holes are saved for last; the final four holes are heavily influenced by water, and are truly where tournaments and rounds are won or lost.
The proximity of the tremendous clubhouse at the end of each loop makes for a superb amphitheatre to welcome your comrades home during your golf break, corporate or society outing at Donnington Valley.
The highlight of the golf course is the monstrous 15th; nicknamed the ‘Big Dipper', it is well in excess of 600 yards, and requires 3 exceedingly good shots.
