Forest Pines Golf Club

Designer John Morgan, who currently plays on the Senior PGA Tour, has carved out some tremendous holes from the towering pines that are so characteristic of the landscape.

The course is compiled from three separate nine-hole loops called the Pines, the Beeches and the Forest, with the different combinations adding welcome variety to a golf break. Regarded as the finest golfing venue in Lincolnshire if not beyond, Forest Pines superb layout is well worth a visit.

With the recent completion of the £10 million refurbishment plan, the hotel and resort facilities at Forest Pines are now a match for the outstanding golf course - the complete package for a fantastic golf break.

Forest Pines' excellent golfing layout is embellished by the superb practice facilities, where visiting players can choose to sharpen their skills, or take some personal advice from the team of PGA professionals.

Just to say a big thank you, to you , your staff and company for organising our golf break last weekend at Forest Pines. I must say when I found out that we were a group of 36 I was a little nervous I did think it was too many, but thanks to you all the work and worry was taken away from me, all I had to do was to arrive and enjoy myself. The venue was perfect, super courses, excellent service and food , and the bar tariff was not expensive. Will be contacting you this week with view for you to organise next years trip. Once again many thanks for your excellent service. Kind Regards

Rooms - superb. top notch. Course - saturday Foggy but good. Sat night dinner - excellent. Sun Am Brekkie - excellent. Course sunday - excellent. Ride home sad. Throughly recommend another visit. Only 1 down point - no balls on driving range. Overall - excellent - extremely good food and facilities, all my Boyz enjoyed the weekend and we shall return. Thank you. Regards

Just wanted to let you know our sunday special visit to forest pines was superb, thank you for sorting us out a venue where we could play golf on a wet weekend when most other courses were closed. Forest Pines is in great condition, a big thank you to the green staff. Our food and accommodation was better than expected, sunday specials are great value, I would recommend this hidden gem to golf societies and couples.

We had a brilliant golf break at Forest Pines last Sunday and Monday. The weather was perfect and we were all most impressed with the venue, both the accommodation and the golf courses, but especially the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff in the pro shop and the hotel. The rooms were most comfortable and we really enjoyed all 3 golf courses which were in lovely condition. All in all a very good trip and we would certainly recommend Forest Pines to any one looking for a very good value break. Thanks for all your help in booking the trip - I will recommend your services to next year's Lady Vice Captain when it is her turn to arrange the away trip. Best wishes,

We have just returned from our golf trip to Forest Pines and thought we would drop a not to let you know how everything went.

The golf break was very enjoyable and all aspects of the golf resort were top class. We found the golf course to be difficult and it was perhaps a little too difficult for us! Having said that it was very picturesque and we saw lots of wildlife...just no birdies! There were starters on the tee and they were very helpful and made us feel like we were valued members; a very nice touch. The clubhouse was also very nice but was a tad on the expensive side. Like the golf pros and the starters on the tees, the staff here were great.

The hotel was very nice with welcoming staff. When we arrived in our room the cleaners were still giving it the go over but that was no big deal as we were due on the tee anyway. We played our round of golf and the room was ready when we returned. The room was great and was perfect for a weekend golf holiday. Dinner was great and was included in the Sunday Special golf break package we had bought from Your Golf Travel.

Your Golf Travel were great and made the booking process quick and easy. Our booking agent also kept in touch with us and we even got a text wishing us well just after we arrived at the golf resort.

Big thumbs up for everyone at YGT!

We booked a Sunday Special golf break at Forest Pines and thought it was excellent from start to finish. The resort is so easy to access as it’s just off the M180 and yet on the course you can barely hear the traffic.

The golf course is brilliant and although it’s very young it has a mature feel to it. You’d better hit the ball straight to score well though as the fairways are lined by towering pine trees. They’re not extremely penal as you will always find your ball but they will certainly hinder your progress to the greens, which by the way are outstanding.

The hotel is really nice as well. Not as grandiose as other older establishments but a perfectly nice place to stay for a weekend golf holiday. The food and drink are excellent and well priced and the people who work there are really professional and friendly. The service is exceptional. I would 100% recommend the venue and will be back in the future for more golf breaks.

I would also recommend Your Golf Travel’s services to other golfers who book weekend golf breaks. I have yet to book a more extensive golf holiday with you but I’m sure that day will come soon!

Many thanks for all your help in making our recent golf break to Forest Pines an extremely enjoyable stay. Forest Pines offers a truly outstanding 27 hole layout with a hotel and facilities to match. All of this though is eclipsed by the exceptionally friendly staff and professional service we received throughout our golf break.

Three loops of nine holes are all in immaculate condition with towering pine trees lining the fairways and fast undulating greens make the course quite a challenge. The three nine hole loops are great when you’re on a golf break as you get a good balance of familiarity and variety.

The atmosphere, welcome and service in the clubhouse was perhaps the best I have ever received. The drinks are well priced and the food is great.

The hotel was excellent value for money and the staff were outstanding. There are three restaurants and in each one the food is superb. The guestrooms were large, modern and very clean.

I would give Forest Pines 8/10. I would have scored this much higher but for the driving range which was a bit ropey. You can’t hit more than an eight iron so while you can get the muscles warmed up you can’t really fully prepare your game for the imminent round of golf. This is a shame because the course is easily on a par with the Forest of Arden and Stapleford Park which are two of my favourites.

Your Golf Travel has been exceptional throughout the entire process even until the moment we got home. We really appreciated the text/emails on arrival and departure wishing us a good time. I always recommend YGT to fellow golfers and will continue to do so. You simply can’t be beaten on price and service so why go anywhere else for a golf break?

Our golf break to Forest Pines was difficult to fault...in fact impossible!

All the arrangements were second to none and we were impressed by Your Golf Travel from the get go.

Forest Pines was also fantastic in every way. The food was delicious and dinner was included in the golf break package. Prices for drinks were fair and no higher than in any other hotel of this kind. As well as fantastic food and a great atmosphere the guestrooms were excellent. Very spacious, clean, modern and comfortable.

The golf course was in excellent condition. We played all three nine hole loops and despite some questionable weather we really enjoyed the golf from start to finish. As far as golf breaks go the set up at Forest Pines is ideal as you can chop and change the order of the holes meaning the golf never gets stale. Our second round was very slow and without even raising the issue with anyone the Director of Golf was waiting for us to offer his apologies and present us with a voucher for a complimentary round of golf...impressive customer service to say the least!

I would not hesitate to use Your Golf Travel in the future and am looking forward to returning to Forest Pines.

My golfing buddies and I would like to thank you for arranging our recent trip to Forest Pines Hotel and Golf Resort. Everything was exactly as you said it would be which is, in my opinion great testimony to you and your colleagues. The hotel was very nice with welcoming and friendly staff, the rooms were well appointed and sparkling clean. As for the course, it was nothing short of stunning. With the two round offer we were able to play all 27 holes on the Pines, the Forest, and the Beeches courses, which made it feel like we had played at two separate venues. The course was pretty challenging for our group as we fall into the useless category, but never mind, it was certainly great fun trying to conquer it. In summary, nice hotel, great course, and all arranged in minutes. Of course I took all the glory for arranging such a good trip when really it was you who did all the work, so thanks a lot for that. Please be assured that when our next trip is ready to be arranged, I will be contacting you directly.

Again many thanks for your efforts,

John

We were so pleased with our golfing break at Forest Pines Hotel & Golf Resort. The hotel was great, the food was great, and the staff and service was great.

The golf course was challenging, but right for me. I only manage 200yds with my driver, but I hit straight. My doctor friend hits awesome 250-275 drives, but not straight! This is where this course favourers the canny golfer.

We both really enjoyed it so much. A big thank you to Your Golf Travel for being so understanding of my medical condition, and allowing the time before I booked. (I live one day at a time).

I will certainly use the expertise of Your Golf Travel in the near future and look forward to book with them again.

We enjoyed our golf break at Forest Pines Hotel & Golf Resort. The course had a good layout. Forest and Pines in very good condition, Beeches was ok but greens had been worked on so condition not as good. It was a real challenge. Tee bookings well managed. However Sunday's round was slow but Monday, as expected, much quicker. Played an extra 9 holes for £10 pp- thought we might get this complementary!

Hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. Good quality rooms. Evening meal ok however but the '£26 allowance' a little bizarre. Price of drinks and snacks remains a big issue (not just here but in every similar venue). Cheapest price of £20 for a bottle of very average wine reflects liberties that can/are be taken with a captive audience.

Location was easy to find and well signposted.

Your Golf Travels service was very smooth, helpful and efficient. I would definitely recommend them.

Just back from Forest Pines Hotel & Country Club and had a fantastic golf break, great value. Golf course superb albeit greens a little disappointing due to recent spiking, hotel excellent with good food and fantastic value when booked as package with YGT, drinks in the bar on certain drinks were outrageous but all in all great all round value. The resort was very easy indeed to find and I would give it 9 out of 10 overall. Finally I would like to thank Your Golf Travel for a speedy and informative process and will be booking another overnighter for the end of September.

The trip was excellent. Venue was one of the best I've Been to, food was of a good standard and the golf course was a joy to play. Even though sometimes the golf didn't match the quality of it. We all agreed were going to try and do another in golf break again soon, so I'm sure I'll be in touch with YGT again soon.

Forest Pines is an exceptionally beautiful course in autumn. Although there was a slight mist on both days during our golf break, this did not detract from the pleasure of playing the courses. We had played at this venue before so knew our way around, but came across a number of guests who were ‘lost’ as the signposting of holes is very poor.

Staff and food in the clubhouse were excellent. The Pro Shop was well stocked and booking in process is very smooth. Hotel rooms were excellent.

The main criticism has been the very poor quality of food at dinner in the main restaurant. Starters were inedible and main courses tasteless. The staff were very disorganised and the bill was incorrect (cost of five meals presented for four people).

There was a queue of people lined up asking for the Restaurant Manager but he was nowhere to be seen. Reception proved unable to produce a final bill which clearly showed the dinner ‘extras’ and struggled with deducting the £10 drinks vouchers. The breakfasts, however, were very good quality and the service first class.

We will definitely visit again and would recommend the resort to friends 8/10. YGT were also very helpful and provided great service once again.
