Hellidon Lakes

The predominant feature is water, as the course's name suggests, with no fewer than 16 lakes placed strategically to attract wayward golf balls. The 220-acre landscape that is the backdrop to the golf course is in fact a nature reserve, and the wildlife and stunning panorama only serve to embellish the golfing experience. The course is fortunate to feature a cutting-edge irrigation system, designed to drain the greens effectively, ensuring that they roll true throughout the year.

At its longest, the golf course at Hellidon Lakes will measure over 6,500, and will challenge the better players, while the different combinations and tee markers ensure that the resort is perfect for golfers of every standard.

The hotel at Hellidon Lakes overlooks the same splendid natural landscape that is host to the golf course, with many rooms having particularly memorable panoramas.

The hotel now has 110 excellent guest rooms, courtesy of an extensive development and refurbishment programme. The guest rooms and public areas are all extremely stylish, featuring excellent furnishings and fittings.

For a special occasion, upgrade to one of the 4 exquisite suites, where you can enjoy the views over Northamptonshire and Warwickshire from the most luxurious setting.

Visitors to Hellidon Lakes will be impressed with not only the accommodation, but also the extensive activities and excellent dining, making it a superb golf break package.

Hellidon Lakes' Reflections Spa and Leisure centre is well equipped, offering guests the chance to take advantage of the indoor swimming pool, whirlpool spa bath, steam room, sun bed and extensive gymnasium. The more active can use the superb tennis courts, while the Spa itself has a range of health and beauty therapy, including specialist massages, facials and body treatments.

The Lakes Brasserie provides a good selection of food together with an extensive wine list.

The Terrace is ideal for bistro-style food or a refreshing drink.

Hellidon Lakes has its very own 10-pin bowling alley.

Golfer reviews

Where do I start about Hellidon Lakes. For 6 years we have been looking for a golf course and hotel that offers the best of both worlds. A golf course that offers us something different than our usual club courses and Hellidon Lakes gave us that, a great hotel and challenging golf course. A mixture of teasing tee shots that invite you to take on the hole but put you under pressure if you do not place the ball in the right places, the 1st hole being a great example. It is funny how you can hit the ball of every tee at your club course, but being the first to stand up on the elevated 1st tee at Hellidon Lakes in front of 7 fellow golfers guarantees a few nerves and a slice. The fairways were mixture of dog legs and blind second shots and the water was always there to pick up the wayward.
The views across the golf course kept your imagination going helping to draw you in and get you thinking about what might be waiting at the next tee. The greens were in fantastic condition and pretty quick for us high handicappers but by the end of the second round we were starting to get to grips with the speeds and lines of the tiered greens. The pro shop was always helpful and helped with any questions we had on how to play the course.
The hotel backed up the quality of the golf course, from the great service from Holly in the bar who was happy to hear all our stories about our round and kept the drinks coming, to the great food in the dining room which over looked the golf course. The atmosphere was always friendly and the bar was a great place to mix with the other golfers staying in the Hotel. We were lucky to get 8 rooms with views of the golf course and we all commented on the fact that they were immaculate. The ten pin bowling alley offered us a distraction from boring each other with golf stories and the spa was a good way to soak away the aches and pains.
We will definitely be telling everyone about Hellidon Lakes and this is the first venue we will consider going back too next year.
I would like to thank the Your Golf Travel team we met at the Golf Show at the NEC last year who helped me with all the planning for this great weekend and were happy to answer any questions I had. Without them we would never know about Hellidon Lakes.

We had a great golf break at hellidon. Thanks so much for or your help and re arranging, the staff there were amazing, couldn't do enough for us. Well impressed.

The Hellidon Lakes golf resort is set in beautiful, rolling English countryside. It feels perfectly secluded and yet is only a few miles away from Daventry and is well signposted and easily found.

The splendid isolation was perfect for our weekend golf break and the hotel is comparable to other similar golf resorts I have visited on previous golf holidays. Reception Staff were exceptionally nice and as we arrived at 12, 3 hours early for check in, they arranged for the rooms to be ready earlier. The rooms were excellent and boasted great views over the golf course...by the time we had unpacked we were eager to get out on the golf course.

There are three nine hole loops to choose from and we would recommend staying clear of one of them which was more suitable to beginners; it seemed like more of an academy course. The other two nines were fantastic and we really enjoyed playing them. The golf course isn’t overly long but it still presents a challenge. We are both 18 handicappers and both thought it was a fair contest against Old Man Par!

The allowance included in our golf break package for our evening meal was £26 pounds, which is sufficient for two courses and maybe even three if you are lucky. The food was delicious and although the service started a little slowly it picked up and the evening turned out to be a real success. The bar prices were no more expensive than we had anticipated and were cheaper than other venues we had visited on previous golf trips.

We all enjoyed 3 courses and shared two bottles of wine which came to 40 pounds per head meaning we all had to chip in a bit more but we were happy to do so. We sat up untilwell after 1am and there were a few other golfers in the bar so although it was quiet (it was a Sunday night) it was not dead.

I will definitely be coming back to book future golf tours and holidays with Your Golf Travel as everything ran like clockwork and the value for money was great.
