The modern hotel at DoubleTree Templepatrick at Kingfisher Country Estate offers comfortable accommodation to guests, and is situated ideally within the beautiful Castle Upton Estate.

If the golf course is not enough, the excellent leisure facilities ensure there is always something to do here. The Livingwell Health Club has a heated indoor pool, well-equipped gym, jacuzzi and a sauna, while appointments can be made for massages and various beauty treatments. The resort also has two outdoor tennis courts.
Treffner's Restaurant has an excellent menu, including classics like Irish beef, and locally-caught monkfish.

We were allocated a room, which seemed OK but bed was very poor, as it seemed like the springs had gone. We couldn’t change rooms as hotel was full. They put something on mattress to soften it but it didn’t really work. In addition, main restaurant was undergoing renovations so all meals were served in ‘golf’ bar which was poor. We tried eating there first night and our order arrived within 2-3 minutes. Obviously pre-cooked and reheated! We didn’t have dinner there again. We were told when we left that renovations were going on until April 2024. Hotel total opposite of Bushmills Inn.
I found it very expensive £7 for a pint of beer £26 for a very ordinarily house wine. The bar staff were not very friendly but we encountered the manager at breakfast and he was very friendly. It's not called the hospitality industry for no reason!

Whilst the hotel is currently carrying out renovations, this did not affect our stay. The staff were attentive and courteous and ensured we had everything we needed.
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel, made use of the steam room and swimming pool. Room spacious and clean, staff friendly. Only fault we had was that we thought the portions for the meal were quite small, we were still feeling hungry after finishing it.

Spoiled by rain
Beautiful parkland course with good water features and superb greens and a great variety of challenging holes. There was a great lack of signs between holes and we were wandering around lost on a few occasions. There were also a few places where there was a very hsrsh out of bounds area when in my view red staked penalty area would be more appropriate.

All things considered the course was in good order for mid November. Whilst water was lying in some areas, a good golfer wouldn't need to worry about it! The fairways were excellent and, whilst some greens had been hollow tined, that is to be expected at this time of the year and it did not adversely affect our round.
We found the course a bit harder than the one we are used to, lots of fairway bunkers and water, but we enjoyed the challenge. Play was a bit slow moreso on the 2nd day as we were behind a society. We did expect this anyway as we were only playing as a 2 ball. Overall the course is in great condition and we will definitely be visiting again whenever we get the chance.
