The trip was a great success and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the Red Fox Hotel. I was in the new annex across the street, which was quiet, while the others were in a room on the corner of the little square in the old part and had to put up with noise from revellers all Saturday night. If you can try to get your future punters into the annex, I think they would appreciate it. Otherwise, as far as I was concerned, it could not have been better organised, so many thanks, and also for the voucher.
While Your Golf Travel weren't able to improve the weather, you did do a great job reorganising the tee-times to account for Close House courses being closed on Friday.
This really is a great golfing destination, a very pretty and wonderfully landscaped course. The condition of the course was fantastic, obviously very well looked after. The staff were excellent in both the hotel and pro-shop and they went out of their way to find us a buggy, when apparently all were booked out. Furthermore, they came and found everyone when lightning approached. Food in the Brassiere was very good and served quickly and afternoon tea was a dream. Our room was a delight, apparently it was once the owner's own room! A particular treat was the TV in the bath!
We were in the modernised stables which had very large rooms and gigantic bathrooms. The restaurant was good, a great experience of fine dining. The Filly course was a good old-fashioned course. Unfortunately we did not manage to play the Colt which looked very dramatic, but there’s always next time!
Hope this is helpful and look forward to contacting you again. Thanks very much for the personal service which is much more than one expects from a website, will certainly recommend you to anyone coming to the UK for a golf holiday.
The Hotel Red Fox was in a good central location with clean rooms. Breakfast was good and well stocked. Lack of parking not helpful, but there was a public car park 5 minutes walk away.
Eurotunnel crossing – outbound worked like clockwork. Return, 2 of the 3 cars not identified and had to input the booking reference numbers which we didn’t have, but they fortunately kept their outbound boarding pass.
Courses – fantastic choices. Le Foret was the more average of the 4, but others generally superb condition and set-up. Belle Dune less welcoming – we were slightly late as got caught in traffic, but one of our party was there early enough to warn them. They said next tee-off time was 2.5 hours later as they were very busy.
