Although it is found on the peninsula that juts out to sea, Howth is certainly not a links course. Its verdant fairways are lined with gorse bushes, whose yellow summer bloom transforms the course into a beautiful sight.
The layout itself is one of countless to come from the pen and the imagination of the great James Braid. The great Scot's influence extended far and wide in the golfing world, and at Howth he created a real gem.
Gentle undulations, dog-legs and characteristically intelligent bunkering mark this Braid treasure, which is always worth the trip during a golf tour in Dublin.
