Our golf break at Hunley Hall was brilliant and we would definitely recommend both the venue and Your Golf Travel to other golfers looking to go on a golf holiday.
Hunley Hall was easy to find and the accommodation was great. The rooms were very spacious and the surroundings were very comfortable. The bar had a relaxing atmosphere and the staff were really nice; the service was great. The food was awesome and the portions were generous which was a bonus!
We really liked the golf course as well although we would recommend a buggy as it is really hilly and a hell of a hike! You certainly knew you had played a round of golf by the end!The Club Pro was polite and professional...he reminded me of Gordon Brown!
All in all our golf trip was a real success and we are looking forward to booking our next golf holiday with Your Golf Travel.
Hunley Hall Hotel & Golf Club was a great 2 day golf break - the weather helped of course but the food was excellent, the staff very helpful and friendly and the rooms very comfortable. The greens were in very good shape but the fairways were rather hard and bare in places (they have had no rain). Our only complaint would be that they only have 10 buggies and all of them were booked out (but the pro did get us one for the morning of the second day - he was most helpful)) - my wife has a bad back so we could not play without a buggy on the final day.
We will certainly go back to this venue again and the service from YGT was fist class, very helpful indeed.
The trip to Hunley Hall Hotel & Golf Club was our best golf break so far, and that's saying something as the others took some beating. The weather was brilliant, sunny and dry which always helps, but it could have been raining, that would not have spoiled it either.
The courses were in great good condition, and considering the lack of rain through winter and spring a credit to the green keeping staff. The club offered both a 18 hole and 9 hole course each of different formats which was superb allowing us to play 27 holes. The Hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming and always willing to help. The service was always excellent and always with a smile. The staff were a pleasure to deal with.
This trip was very good value for money and bar prices were probably at about the High St norm, but cheap for a Hotel. The rooms were very clean and spacious, and the shower was very powerful. Everyone commented on the food. Very nice indeed, we never expected food of this quality. The hotel complex was fully signposted and there was plenty of parking. I personally couldn’t give this hotel and golf complex less than 10 out 10. I would also personally like to thank Your Golf Travel for their efforts in sorting out the trip, a real pleasure to deal with from start to finish, very prompt replies to queries. I will be recommending this hotel to others and will continue to recommend Your Golf Travel to others as I have done in the past. Several people I have recommended you to have already booked trips with you this year and last. Absolutely no complaints at all, will be using YGT again on our next trip.
My wife and I played three rounds on three days and stayed two nights DB&B for our golf break. The golf course is 29 holes which are played over 4 layouts and we played all 29 holes over 3 layouts. Spectacular spring weather and the amazing cliff scenery contributed to enjoyable golf. Some holes are very well designed, some are more ordinary, but overall a worthwhile test for medium handicappers. Wife won I’m afraid!
We found all at HH to be very welcoming. The staff were among the friendliest we have experienced on golf jaunts, and members were easy to speak with on the course and helpful when we were in danger of getting lost on the course.
Food was of a decent standard (hearty breakfasts), wine and beer priced reasonably, and for the price we paid for some early season golf, we would definitely recommend. Good non-golfing things to do at Whitby and Sandtown-on-sea nearby.

We couldn't have picked a better weekend of weather for our golf break to Hunley Hall, the sun was beaming down! Ok maybe not beaming but best we've had in 5 months or so! We were 18 golfers from the Forest of Galtres Golf Club in York, ready to play loads of golf and drink loads of beer!Hotel reception was very efficient and friendly and after us pre ordered our evening meal we were off to the course.
We started on the Jubilee Course which was in great condition and provided plenty of variety and challenge to test the high and low handicapper alike. Back to the hotel and booking into our rooms, the twin rooms we had were ample in size, comfortable beds, TV, brew making kit and a decent bathroom…quality Beefy!!
After a shower it was back to the 19th, which was hosting a wedding party, but still managed to provide a good service for the rest of the guests. We ate in a separate room to ourselves upstairs, and after a lovely crab starter, pheasant for main and a baileys chocolate cake we spent the rest of the night (And some of the morning!) in the bar.
Day two started with one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in a hotel for years! Could hardly move on the first tee!!
We started on the Millennium course for our second game, and this would be the only criticism I would have… It was clear we had been moved around to suit a members competition playing at the same time, which wouldn't normally bother me, but we only had 2 holes of the Millennium course and then we were back on the Jubilee course, they had done this to ensure the members game were well ahead of us after our first nine holes! It didn't work very well, we were held up by some visitors which must have been let on after the member’s competition! We were also working off a photocopied adhoc scorecard and the stroke index of the 16th was 15 on Saturday and 5 on Sunday, with no positional difference at all!! (5 would have been the more accurate one!). By the way I had booked these months ago!
It was only a minor hic up, but it would have been nice to play the Millennium course! All in all the lads enjoyed the trip and the golf and when we got back to the 19th on Sunday afternoon it actually had run out of lager!!
Whatever the size of your party you will enjoy friendly and efficient service with traditional Yorkshire value for money at Hunley Hall. I would rate it as 8/10, with a loss of points for the golf organisation side! Your Golf Travel… Id rate them a 9/10, they have to take some responsibility for the golf management side too!
We enjoyed our golf break to Hunley Hall Hotel & Golf
Club. The food was first class and the staff couldn’t do enough to please.
Challenging golf and an overall excellent venue, thanks to
YGT for their great service also!
Will be back.
