1 Night, 2 Rounds

    • 1 Night Bed and Breakfast at Killarney Towers Hotel
    • 1 Round at Killeen Course, Killarney
    • 1 Round at Mahony's Point Course, Killarney

Killarney Golf and Fishing Club sits in the heart of South West Ireland's stunning countryside, offering 45 championship holes designed by three hugely respected architects. The setting is exceptional, with numerous lakes woven through the property and the backdrop of Killarney's mountains creating one of those places that genuinely makes you pause on the tee and take the view in. The courses here are proper championship tests, and I'll be honest, you'll want to bring your A-game on a few of those water-framed holes, but the tranquil surroundings and natural beauty make every round feel like an escape rather than a battle.

If you're travelling with a mixed-ability group, the real win is the variety across the 45 holes, so you can build a trip that suits everyone rather than forcing three identical rounds. Expect plenty of water to shape strategy, strong par 4s and a setting that feels a world away from town once you're on the property. The routing keeps things interesting, and there's enough challenge here to test confident players without making the experience feel like a slog for mid-handicappers.

The location works brilliantly for a golf break. You're just a mile from Killarney town centre, which means you can finish your round and be in the thick of one of Ireland's liveliest tourist hubs within minutes. The town is packed with excellent restaurants, traditional pubs and lively bars, so there's plenty to do once you've come off the course. It's a rare combination of world-class golf in a peaceful, scenic setting with all the energy and atmosphere of a vibrant Irish town right on your doorstep.

Who is this for?
Golfers planning an Ireland break who want championship golf in a peaceful setting but still want a lively town for dinner, pints and a bit of atmosphere afterwards.

Who is it best for?
Societies and groups who want 45 holes of variety for a 2 to 4 night trip, couples who like combining golf with a proper base in Killarney and confident players looking for a stern test without going full links.

Golf Courses at Killarney Golf & Fishing Club

Killeen Course

The Killeen Course is the most established at Killarney, and is a proven tournament host, having welcomed the ladies for the Curtis Cup in 1996, and also the European Tour professionals for the Irish Open in 2010 and 2011. Ross Fisher held of a star-studded line up in 2010 to take the victory, with fellow Englishman Simon Dyson taking the honors in 2011.

This gives an insight into the difficulty of the course, especially in bad weather. Holes like the tough 13th, known locally as the ‘Tiger Hole', have benefited from recent changes to add length, more water hazards and faster, redesigned greens, as part of a strategy to make this beautiful South West Ireland track even more challenging.

Lackabane Course

Donald Steel's Lackabane Course is the newest addition to Killarney's impressive portfolio, and has already established a reputation for being a formidable test. This parkland track will test the long game of even the best players. Numerous lakes and streams are part of the myriad of hazards to be negotiated around this modern classic.

Mahony's Point Course

Mahony's Point may be the shortest of Killarney's offerings, but it features some of the most entertaining holes around. The highlight of this experience is the closing stretch, not least the famous final hole, a 200-yard par-3 which demands a monstrous carry over the blue water of Killarney's lakes. These courses together are testament to the fantastic golf, and awe-inspiring beauty that can be experienced on a golf break or tour in Killarney.
