Established in 1905, overlooking the spa town of Llandrindod Wells, the course here was designed by six-time Open Champion Harry Vardon, and his brief, to "maximise the views from every tee and from every green", was achieved in some style.

Llandrindod Wells, named Welsh Golf Club Of The Year 2004, has a special course that was sculpted out of the contours of the land by men and horses equipped with picks and, shovels rather than earth moving machinery - and it shows.
This "Upland Links" course has a wonderful natural feel yet provides a true test for golfers of all abilities. It features lush upland turf on which the ball sits up invitingly, turf banks and natural hazards, with well protected greens that are rated amongst the best in Wales.
By the standards of today, the course is not long at 5,800 yards or so, but don't be lulled into thinking that it's a pushover; against a par of 69 the course record still stands at only 65.
To single out one great hole is almost impossible but the 13th takes some beating. From an elevated tee, you face a tee shot that has to carry an almost vertical bank some 200 yards away, with out of bounds tight to the left side and trees and deep rough to the right.
The Clubhouse has a superb restaurant, which can seat up to 70 for functions and parties. The restaurant appears though perched on a cliff edge and has superb views over the town and the surrounding countryside and is an excellent venue for get-togethers.
An eight bay floodlit driving range has been constructed on land adjacent to the first fairway and offers an ideal place to warm up before you step onto the first tee or to practice your swing and perfect your game.
