Los Naranjos Golf Club sits in the heart of the Costa del Sol, around 40 minutes from Málaga airport, and it's rightly regarded as one of Spain's standout parkland tests. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Senior, it's a course that rewards sensible positioning and a bit of patience rather than simply hitting driver everywhere.
The front nine is the more forgiving of the two halves, with wider corridors that let you find a rhythm early on. It's still no pushover, but you'll generally have a clearer look at your targets and more room to shape shots. Turn for home and the challenge ramps up. The back nine is tighter and more tree-lined, routed through orange plantations, olive groves and pines, where accuracy off the tee starts to matter a lot more. Miss the fairway and you'll often be pitching out rather than attacking.
Off the course, the setting is pure Costa del Sol, all greenery, sunshine and calm views across the property and surrounding countryside. It's an easy pick for groups who want a high-quality round in Marbella, especially if you like courses that feel different on the way out and on the way back in.
Who is this for?
Golfers booking a Costa del Sol break who want a classic, well-conditioned parkland layout with a proper strategic edge.
Who is it best for?
Mixed-ability groups, with the front nine offering a gentler start and the back nine providing a sterner test for confident ball-strikers.

Los Naranjos Golf Club
At 7,178 yards, Los Naranjos is a genuine championship proposition that will certainly be enjoyed by the long hitters. Trent Jones Sr.'s trademark runway tees lead into wide fairways, and allow a variety of tee boxes to suit every visitor. The massive, undulating greens are heavily protected by expanses of white sand, and there are also a great many water hazards to be avoided.
Winding through the delightful groves of orange trees, Los Naranjos is always maintained in outstanding condition, making it a joy to play during a golf holiday in the Andalucian region.
The impressive clubhouse is equipped with a wellness centre, offering professional sports massage and fitness service. There is also a certified custom club fitting centre plus a new fleet of buggies.
Signature Hole: Hole 18, Par 5, 515 metres (563 yards), SI 5
A tough closing hole. This par 5 doglegs left, and it’s water along the left side of the fairway and up across the face of the green means that any misjudged approach shots or short attempts at the green in two, could easily find their way into the hazard. Concentration needs to be maintained in order to keep your scorecard on track.

Lovely, members club, not very busy. Always a favourite. A pity they had recently tined the greens and fairways, but you have to accept they have to do it some time

A course that I would normally give 5 stars across the board. However, when we got there the driving range was closed for refurbishment and greens maintenance had been done earlier in the week. The greens had been hollow tined, the fairways scarified and covered in sand. The whole round was like being in a bunker.

We arrived at the course to be informed that because there was a competition on we must start at the 10th. And that the practice area was closed to be be redeveloped.
So our first 9 holes were the Back 9 - the condition of the tees were atrocious - covered in a green sand and hog backed.
The pace of play over these nine holes was also very slow. On arriving at the first tee work was been carried out by a big JCB - making access difficult.
To be fair the overall condition of this nine was better.
Not sure if we will return.

We picked the wrong day to play, your golf told us the only tee time available was late afternoon Thursday, wha5 they didn’t tell us was this was the last day of a 4 day tournament so the pins were in impossible locations, although w3 love the course we would not have gone if reasons for tee time given
