Signature Collection

Rusacks St Andrews sits right on the edge of the action, part of the Marine & Lawn collection of hotels and resorts built around some of the world's most celebrated courses. If you like your golf with a side of history, this is about as close as it gets to the Old Course story, with an 1800s façade and a front-row seat over the opening and closing holes.

The appeal is simple: you're staying in the heart of St Andrews, with the town, the Links and the pub scene all within easy reach. It's a proper "golf-first" base, but it doesn't feel stiff. Expect classic Scottish character, modern comforts and plenty of little design touches that nod to the local landscape.

Off the course, the hotel holds its own. There's a spa for recovery days (or the morning after), and the food and drink options make it easy to keep everyone happy, whether you're after a relaxed bite post-round or something a bit smarter with a view.

If you're building a St Andrews break around bucket-list tee times, Rusacks is the kind of place that keeps the whole trip feeling special, even when the weather does what it usually does on the east coast.

Who is this for?
Golfers planning a premium St Andrews break who want to stay steps from the Links, with big Old Course views and genuinely good on-site dining.

Who is it best for?
Bucket-list Old Course chasers, couples who want golf plus spa time and groups who want a central base that feels special after 18 holes.

Accommodation at Rusacks St Andrews

Guest rooms take inspiration from local flora and fauna, with warm woods, muted tones and luxurious décor. Lush green accents, rich brown furniture and subtle floral walls lean into the outdoors, while tartan flooring gives an unmistakably Scottish sense of place. Look out for the light fittings too, which feature wooden Godwits, a bird local to St Andrews and Fife.

Selected rooms overlook the surrounding links and coastline, which is a serious upgrade if you're travelling with golfers who'll happily spend five minutes at the window spotting flags and fairways. If you can, it's worth requesting a view room early, especially for peak season dates.

All rooms are set up for a fuss-free stay, whether you're in town for a quick weekend dash or building a longer St Andrews tour around the local rota of links. Expect the usual comforts, plus thoughtful touches that make the difference when you're coming off the course tired and hungry.

18 is a must-visit destination if you're in St Andrews. The rooftop bar and restaurant offers standout views across the Old Course and its 1st and 18th holes, which means you can watch the drama unfold over the Road Hole and the Valley of Sin while you eat. The restaurant menus showcase the best in-season and locally sourced ingredients, including beef, game and freshly caught seafood. It's the kind of place that works equally well for a celebratory dinner after a good round or a quiet drink while you replay the day's highlights.

Downstairs, The Bridge is the all-day Mediterranean spot, serving charming, authentic dishes inspired by the rugged shorelines and rolling hills of Italy, Spain and southern France. Guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner, with views of the famous Swilcan Bridge while they dine. It's a relaxed option that suits groups who want something good without the formality.

One Under Bar is a classic Scottish pub offering an extensive drinks menu, bar bites and traditional pub fare, just one minute from the golf course. Full of personality and stories, One Under Bar is the perfect setting to unwind after a round. It's also a popular venue at weekends for live music and entertainment, making it ideal for groups looking to combine serious golf with a sociable atmosphere.

Excellent hotel adjacent to the 18th fairway. Restaurant 18 was very good, as was the downstairs bar which had a good range of beers. Location of the hotel is perfect. The hotel has a snooker room with a full size table which was great.
