Designer Dan Maples certainly allowed his creative streak to flourish in the manufacture of the Man O’ War, which is unlike any other course. Two consecutive island greens put Sawgrass to shame in entertainment stakes, while some of the holes appear to be floating atop the 100-acre lake! Man O’ War may not be for the golfing purist, but it is a refreshing and very American slant on the golfing experience.
Battling the Man O’ War for pars and birdies is the epitome of what many people seek from a golf holiday in the United States, and makes a superbly enjoyable addition to any golfing escape to Myrtle Beach.
