You will be pleased to hear that the weekend worked out extremely well with the accommodation and food being excellent and the course probably being as good as possible considering the conditions. Thanks again for all your organisation of our golf break. Regards,
Manor of Groves Hotel, Golf & Country Club
The delightful 18 hole members' course at the Manor of Groves is a thinking golfer's paradise. While it is not long by modern standards at 6,237 yards, strategy and course management are the most valuable assets.
The Manor of Groves Hotel is a pleasant blend of traditional and contemporary style. For a special occasion, the old wing of the house has been retained and restored in its original fashion, and is now home to several beautiful four-poster suites, ideal for that special occasion.

In recent years there has been continuous and dedicated investment to improve the standard of the course and its condition, adding to the already impressive golf experience. It is fair to view the course in two distinct halves, as the front nine weaves its way around the old manor gardens, while the closing stretch is more open and undulating.
The stunning Hertfordshire countryside is the perfect backdrop for a beautiful course, where the awkward positioning of many raised greens makes choosing the right club tricky at the best of times.
The pleasantly demanding course is a highlight of this excellent resort, where a golf break will certainly be memorable. The newly established viewing gallery gives visitors the chance to watch their fellow golfers tackle the testing closing hole.
If you need to arrange a corporate or society event, the Manor of Groves has conference and banqueting facilities to cater for up to 500 delegates.
Yardage: 6197 Yards
Course Opened in: 1991
The inauguration of the new part of the hotel has added a large number of good-quality guest bedrooms, which are spacious and comfortable. Notable features include flat screen televisions with free view, broadband internet access, hairdryers and marble bathrooms.
The two wings are linked by a striking glass atrium, which serves as a focal point for guests visiting the Manor of Groves on a golf break.
The Manor of Groves Health Club is a state-of-the-art facility, including a 20-metre swimming pool, steam room, spa, sauna, solarium, aerobic studio and a fantastic three-tiered gym, which is fitted with the cutting edge Technogym key system. For those wishing to be pampered, there is a good range of Thalgo health and beauty treatments on offer.

Just a quick note to say we had an excellent weekend at the manor of groves golf hotel. The staff in both the hotel and the clubhouse were very polite and very helpfull, they even managed to get us an earlier tee time on sunday which was appreciated as the original time was 14.50. We will look forward to booking another break with you in the near future. Please pass our comments on to anyone concerned. Thanks very much again.
Just a quick note to thank-you. We all had a great time and everything including food, accommodation and golf were all excellent. We will be looking for another break probably in September at Belton Woods. Cheers
Many thanks for the organising of the trip for us last weekend everybody had a great time although the course was a bit wet suffering from the downpours earlier in the week. This did not spoil our enjoyment though, the food was excellent and the staff at the hotel very good.
Just to let you know we had a great time on 14th June at Manor of Groves golf complex. The coarse was very good quite a challenge on the front nine more open on the back and in very good condition. The hotel and food were excellent shall go again. Thanks for all your help. Regards,
We just returned yesterday after a most enjoyable golf break and wondered if there were any more special deals like that at the same venue. Many thanks,
Just a short message to let you know how much we enjoyed our weekend at the Manor of Groves. It was to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday, and they made it a very memorable weekend for the whole family. The staff were extremely good and very friendly and the food in the restaurant was very tasty. The golf course was very attractive, challenging, but everyone enjoyed it. I would thoroughly recommend the hotel to anyone. Thank you for your help in booking the weekend. Much appreciated, best wishes
Hi, Harry, just wanted to give you some feedback on our weekend golf break at Manor of Groves.
We went on a Sunday driver so had our first tee time in the afternoon on the day of our arrival. The course was fairly quiet which was great as we didn’t feel rushed or in a hurry.
The hotel was amazing, as was the food and it was unanimous that it was the best so far.
It was a coincidence that when we arrived we bumped into 20 ladies that we knew from two golf clubs 2 miles up the road from us!
All in all the weekend was really good so thanks for all your help in organising our golf break. We will be in touch for our September weekend.
We booked a golf break with Your Golf Travel and I have to say the value for money was outstanding. We booked a golf holiday package to play two rounds at Manor of Groves with dinner, bed and breakfast included.
Check in was quick and easy and as we had arrived before our rooms were ready the hotel held our bags for us while we played our first round of golf. The golf course was in great nick and we couldn’t find a fault in its presentation from start to finish. Many of the holes are doglegs meaning length is not all that important...good news for my wife and I as we are both high handicappers! The clubhouse was a great place to finish off the round. Very pretty from the outside and warm and cosy inside with fair prices for both food and drink.
The hotel was great and the room was fantastic. We soaked and relaxed in the pool and hot tub before going to our dinner. Dinner was great as it was a 3 course meal with great options to choose from and very much filled us both up. The breakfast the next morning was the best breakfast buffet that I have ever had. There was a vast selection of cereals, fruits, and lots of hot cooked options.
All in all this was a perfect weekend away and a very good place to enjoy it at! We fully recommend both Manor of Groves and Your Golf Travel for anyone looking to book a UK golf break. Since returning we have already booked a golf holiday for the Christmas holidays.
Just back from the Manor of Groves after what turned out to be a brilliant weekend golf break all round.Approaching the complex through the large roadside pillars, bisecting the golf course before reaching what looked like an old colonial manor house was spectacular and got us all excited by what was to come.
The hotel reception was in the glass conservatory where the staff were both courteous and extremely helpful, relaying all the required information. The rooms were very spacious, clean, and warm with the added advantage of a daily change of towels. Food in the brasserie was excellent with a different menu both nights with a varied choice of international favourites on each. The price of the drinks was pretty reasonable as well, given that we were close to the capital.
Our wives are non golfers and made good use of the spa during our time on the golf course and very positive reports came back from them.
The golf course was excellent bedecked with numerous trees capturing the odd wayward shot. Low handicappers may think the course a little short with some par 4`s requiring only a medium wood and short iron to the green but it was challenging nonetheless. The greens were very receptive and a delight to putt on. The club house was welcoming and friendly with the added advantage of being able to wear golf shoes in the building!
Overall for the golf, hotel, food and spa, this location is great value for money and probably the best golf venue that we have visited on a golf break so far. The package put together by Your Golf Travel was produced professionally with little fuss, even with me changing the date and the tee times, and I would certainly recommend YGT to anyone requiring a top class golf holiday.
We really enjoyed our golf break at Manor of Groves. I think a lot of us would admit we found the course tough but that may be down to our golfing abilities rather than anything else! It was an enjoyable course to play despite the challenge and it certainly gives us something to aim for! We took great joy when one of the much better players in the group teed off from the ladies markers without realising. He had nowhere to hide and was penalised heavily I'm afraid!
The clubhouse was very smart but generally quiet so unfortunately lacked a bit of jovial atmosphere. This wasn’t the end of the world because our group generally amuse themselves anyway!
We found the Hotel to be really good and the food was also great. The lads were well impressed with the A la Carte and unfortunately they may not be getting food of that standard when they get home!
We found the drinks to be a bit pricey but not over the top. A bottle of Rose was about £20.00 but we do take into account where we were and the standard of cuisine involved. The breakfast was exceptional and it really hit the spot and got us ready for another crack at the golf course.
Lastly thank you for your great organisational skills at Your Golf Travel. Anytime I rang with a query your patience was appreciated. I certainly would not have any qualms with booking future golf breaks with you again in the future.
We arrived at the Manor of Groves in just under an hour after leaving central London...not too shabby at all and a good start to our weekend golf break!
Manor of Groves boasts a very welcoming atmosphere, even for a bunch of hackers like ourselves! The tee times were well managed and we were able to get our first round in before we lost the light. The golf course was great and the greens in particular were in fantastic condition for this time of year. I always find on these weekend golf breaks that if you look forward to playing the same course again on the second day it's a good sign, and that was certainly the case at Manor of Groves.
Checking in and out was painless and the members of staff throughout the entire place were friendly and accommodating! The breakfast was delicious and thoroughly needed after a night out in the heart of Essex!
All in all our Manor of Groves golf break was great and was certainly outstanding value for money. We will definitely be back to Your Golf Travel for future golf breaks and would highly recommend your services to other golfers.
We had a marvellous golf break at the Manor of Groves Hotel, Golf & Country Club, it was great last year, and even better this year. I will certainly book with Your Golf Travel again.
On April 23, 24 and 25th I took 26 ladies from my golf club to Manor of Groves for my Captain’s away days. I have to say that nothing was too much trouble for the staff and anything the ladies wanted was given straight away. Our rooms were very comfortable and well furnished. The showers in the rooms were exceptional.
The food was excellent with a very good choice of some 5 to 6 choices for each course. The dining room was of adequate size but we requested a side room which was absolutely beautiful. Often in side rooms the service is poor and you are forgotten. Not at Manor of Groves, we had our own dedicated staff that waited on our every need. The price of wine was very reasonable for a hotel. The leisure facilities were second to none and the steam room as very welcomed sight after a round of golf. The golf course was challenging for some of our ladies however it was a good test for our lower handicap ladies.
The weather was awful but our ladies ventured out for two days in the pouring rain and on the third the weather was just too bad, but it did not spoil a very enjoyable golf break. Your Golf Travel made it very easy for me and I thank them for over three days I did not hear one complaint from our ladies. Value for money it was exceptional and I thoroughly recommend Manor of Groves and will be visiting it again.
Firstly like everything the golf break was made by excellent weather. The hotel, spa, restaurant and rooms were excellent. The food was great and the staff very accommodating.
The course was a challenge with a good mix of straight forward and difficult holes, the only disappointment was that we were playing off mats and the greens were a little sandy. Nevertheless still great value for money.
The club house and pro shop are well equipped with nice food and decent changing facilities, although the bar did shut fairly early in the evening.
The resort did try and cram a few people on Sunday which resulted in a 5 hour round which is pretty slow.
We would like to say thank you to YGT for organising the weekend and making it all very straight forward, everyone of the society members commented on the venue golf and food and said what a great time they had
Only one downside was the bar area being part of the main reception and the doors constantly opening
Many thanks to Your Golf Travel for organising our recent golf break to Manor of Groves. I would like to give the following feedback, basically breaking the trip down into two pieces: - 1 The hotel and food:-2 The Golf.
1 The Hotel and Food. Firstly all the staff we encountered were very polite well mannered and very helpful. Having read several reviews I asked to stay in a particular part of the hotel (the older quieter part) and this request was accommodated; our rooms were superb, very comfortable. The food was exceptional the best we have had on any of the breaks we have been on. We would not hesitate to use the hotel again.
2 The Golf. The course itself was in reasonable condition considering the time of year and the weather problems most courses have had this winter. It had some interesting holes which definitely needed some serious shot selection.
The girls enjoyed the spa and beauty treatments.
