0800 043 6644From the tips, Marbella Golf and Country Club is 6,411 yards, which by today’s standards is relatively modest, but the subtle design formulated by RTJ serves up both fantastic entertainment and a stern challenge. Bordered by banks of indigenous bushes and scrub, the fairways twist and turn, demanding accurate driving and precision approach play.
Trent Jones’ creation is much loved by regular visitors to Marbella, and the town’s golf and country club remains among the most desirable golf holiday options along the Costa Del Sol.

As I reasonably new to golf the courses are challenging where I have to bring in course management really enjoyed
Far better than we remembered it and it ok condition Would prob play again
The clubhouse gives the impression of quality but the course doesn't measure up. It's a decent course but not top quality. Wild boars had done some damage the night before which didn't help. Could do with a major investment but then it might be out of the average price range.
Fantastic place could not fault the facilities, staff, setting all was top notch, but there was a lot of damage to the course done by the wild bore which was a shame and a lot around the greens but thankfully all the greens were untouched.
In future you should provide Full address details to get to the Golf Club so that it can be put into SatNav. Also the Clubs all expected vouchers to be provided.
Beautiful coarse and views but too many on the course making it quite slow. lovely staff and very helpful
Very poor condition, dirty in places. Booking cancelled by them in January so stressfulcalling yourselves to recitfy. worst by far of all the courses we have played in Spain
Course was in perfect condition
Heavily sanded greens and fairway damage due to local wild boars.
The course was not in a very good condition (not awful, but not very impressive). The design of the course is not particularly good and some of the holes are poorly designed. The facilities are ok but no one in our group of nine golfers would want to go back and play the course again.
Everyone I think enjoyed the golf course
Very nice staff cracking clubhouse great round of golf will be back
Tricky and tight front 9, back 9 opens up and is a completely different experience.
Sadly this was NOT the Marbella Club we wanted to play, this was a below average resort course . There are 2 golf clubs with similar names and this one was pretty awful to be honest
Nice course in good condition staff friendly and polite
Couldn't be better with the hot spring sunshine, delightful course and views.
It’s the second time I’ve played it and I think that’s enough
As good as ever
We were following a ladies match and was well over 5 hours. It was sunny though. Course good.
We were disappointed in this course. Perhaps we expected more from the name, but we found it a bit run down and the course a bit random. Apparently it used to be a nine-hole course and they added the new nine in the first half. It didn’t help that the previous night’s heavy rain meant that we had to keep the buggies to the cart paths, resulting in some serious walking up steep hills, but the buggies were included in the price. There were some interesting and challenging holes but, generally, we deemed it our least favourite course of the week and we wouldn’t rush back. It was also slightly odd to be warned by the Course Marshall, on more than one occasion, to make sure we kept our valuables on our persons at all times although, in practice, we never saw anyone on the course that we thought shouldn’t be there. The club house was very pleasant with good views to the sea. We rated the food here very highly – the club sandwich was awesome!
Very difficult to play for the first time . Caddy needed really .
Probably the prettiest of the 3 courses we played. In super condition. There were several par 4s which were short in length but you had to position your tee shot, again using an iron, to have any chance of hitting the green. We will definitely be back.
Nice to play.
Unfortunately the four ahead were playing Texas scramble which was fairly antisocial. So a slow round. The first nine (tight) contrasts with the more open second nine. What views and highly enjoyable. At 58 euros it is remarkably good value for money. Nice restaurant and view from it.
This course was in perfect condition and well run.
Early start bug well worth the challenge
First nine is very tight and you need to know where your going. Back nine a bit more open. Think once you know the place you would enjoy it a bit more.
All I can say is Brilliant cannot fault the course at all. Club house is stunning with friendly staff.
Hard front 9-easier back.Front 9 really needs good golf-and golfers.Could dispirit high handicappers but overall a good experience and nothing wrong with course.Marshalls were a bit weird-on our backs when we still had a four ball on tee about 180 yards away -problem was in front of us by 2 balls(where they had lost 2 holes)-so they were taking easy option rather than dealing with problem. But overall good experience
Most of our group enjoyed this course. It has many interesting holes both viusally and structurally. The greens were moderate speed and in decent condition. Club house facilities are good with polite friendly staff. Golf shop is not huge with a basic offering.
Felt a bit tired and in need of some money being spent. Crammed as many golfers on as possible
Great club house and pro shop, very nice course, some pretty tight and narrow holes
The first 6 holes are a bit odd, squashed into steep mountainside - after that a nice track
The first 9 holes are very challenging and arguably too difficult for medium handicap holiday golfers. The back 9 holes were more traditional for a Spanish course and therefore more enjoyable.
A tough course, great layout with a lot of differing challenges !!
Don't b e fooled by the view from the clubhouse. The first nine are up and down hills and through valleys. A couple of the holes are so high and back you cannot see the drop zone. Back nine are incredibly picturesque. If you use the webcam on the website on the left you are looking at the par 3 10th and the right the 18th.
Really enjoyed the course staff very friendly
Wonderful layout the front nine being extremely difficult for the first visit (Local knowledge a must). We were made to feel extremely welcome and enjoyed a wonderful time at the complex.
Tough course with a lot of holes that require both an accurate tee shot and a large carry. Very enjoyable and varied holes, would 100% play again.
Lots of Sand on the Greens, not the easiest of Courses
The front nine was extremely challenging, with no need for a driver, just plot your way round tricky and quirky nine holes you’ll find hard to beat. The back nine is far more open but the quality and surroundings match the dramatic scenery of the front nine. All aspects are five star including the clubhouse and staff.
Vista fantastic. Not a course for high handicappers, buggies a must. Wonderful facilities and club house.
Not in the greatest condition the worst course we played all week
The course and facilities were very good. Clubhouse staff were extremely friendly and on course staff were helpful in moving slow players along.
The course did not have a booking for us when we arrived ?? so I showed them confirmation on my phone so they managed to squeeze us in
Better than I remember. We had a great day. Course has great features and is not overplayed. Very nice club house.
Course tighter than it should be for holiday golf. A good challenge though.
Paired us with octogenarians. Lots of pressure to speed up on the course. Dumped par three rule again
We really enjoyed this course. Fast greens and in great condition for the time of year.
V tough course, pack extra golf balls
A very tough Golf Course which we played with some tricky strong winds. Clubhouse facilities were good but the only Course we played that didn’t have GPS built into the buggies. On some very undulating holes it was tough to work out yardages for club selection which slowed down play for sure. The GPS gives a much quicker guide to distance/layups etc. By far the most intensely sculpted golf course I have played with some impressive holes. Has the similar feel of Aphrodite Hills in Cyprus but not quite as polished. Greens were quick, contoured and better on the back 9. Another great finishing hole leading up to the green overlooked by a terrace. One to say you have played.
Great course , very difficult for high handicap lads though
A very interesting and, at times, challenging particularly the first 9 holes which are at varying heights and some quite narrow before opening out on the second 9. A visually beautiful course in excellent condition and a pleasure to play.
Probably biased with my views as I play here every year. The front 9 is hilly and difficult to navigate shot distances. Back 9 more flat and open. Great views from the 19th overlooking the course. Good value for money.
Very friendly. Tough course in good condition
Lovely course, excellent condition and some stunning views from the tee boxes.
The course was in shocking condition, the greens were a complete mess and the fairways were waterlogged, don’t even get me started on the gravels, sorry I mean bunkers. I don’t expect to go to places like this walk off covered in mud…
The course was in poor condition which was highlighted by the staff, especially the tee boxes. However my biggest compliant was the tee off time, I questioned the tee off time with you before we left and you convinced me that we would get the round in. However when arriving at the course we was informed that we would be unable to finish our round as the course closed at 8 oclock. Also all the facilities was closed with a pick up at 9pm, so I had to phone the transfer company to see if the transfer could come early, this was also our end of trip presentation event, which was conducted in the dark outside. I was not happy with whole experience at this golf course.
Nice course with good facilities course in good condition and greens quite fast.
Course was a little scabby on day 1, greens were woolly and holes had not been changed for some time. Holes changed for day 2. Two very different 9's, first 9 very tight, second more foregiving but a couple of silly holes including a 215yd par 4. Course felt short all round. Definately needed buggies. Some areas of the course had been overwatered and had casual water.
Top course and facilities
Great day at the course :)
Would recommend this course to any golfer, a really good golfing experience.
The first four holes will take you by surprise after which the course settles into a more consistent layout. Some lovely designed holes. The greens were on the slow side and a bit grass variety but they run pure. First time playing so think it will be easier with greater familiarity. Club house was high quality and the staff friendly. Drinks expensive
course as expected was in lovely conditions and staff helpful and friendly absolutely no complaints whats so ever
Really disappointed with the condition of the course, one I really wouldn’t want to play again.
Great course great condition
Great course and real challenge but this is now the third time we have played when they put 2 X two balls together on the first tee and I hate it ! We separated on the second which created an uncomfortable atmosphere the rest of the round
Always hard playing a new course for the first time but the holes we're nice and the greens were pure. Proper set-up this place and by far the best round of our trip!
Front 9 more difficult than the back 9. Would describe as challenging.
Unable to comment as I did not play this one. General opinion was ok.
Bit tricky for us high handicappers. Had to play as 4 balls.
Beautifully manicured course, very picturesque. Excellent greens. Great Clubhouse with bar/terrace overlooking the double 9th and 18th greens. Front 9 narrowing fairways going up into the hills, back 9 slope down towards the sea with wider fairways. Full size snooker table in clubhouse if you still have some energy left !
We were teamed up with another couple, who were members. This was useful, as the members could give us clues about where to aim on a number of blind holes. The course is very picturesque. There are plenty of hazards and I lost half a dozen balls. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the experience.
Great course, great facilities. Again was a bit muddy in places but nothing serious, nice features and good staff facilities
a very hot day on a tough course made for a real golfing challenge of the highest order!!
A disappointing experience. Clearly this has been a glorified club but those days have gone. Some good holes but the whole place is tired and does not compare with others. Practice facilities are dreadful, buggies ready for the scrap heap and the course mostly in poor condition.
All good to start but we had vouchers to start at 9.30 .but hotel rep had made a mistake and. made booking at course for 8.40 .when we arrived at course they said we had to start at the third hole . Not good .they did apologise but still spoiled a good days golf .only played 15 holes
Needs some attention
apart from being a little slow it was our favourite overall
some of the holes were a little extreme in terms of ability to score, very popular, so the course reflected high usage in wear and tear
Greens superb you have to plot around the course a lot and the buggy paths were slick making dangerous driving
V good
Course in decent condition quite a tough course, with some quite demanding tee shots
Fantastic course and excellent customer service.
Enjoyed this course. Some interesting holes and great views.
Charged for buggy when all ready paid for
A great course to finish with and play on the way back to the airport due to great facilities - have bag storage area, you can take a shower and also a full size snooker table in the bar. Course difficulty I would say is average. They supplied safe deposit boxes in buggies as common with a lot of the courses in Marbella area there was potential for items to be pinched from the buggy where they are parked out of your eye line on tee's and greens. Thankfully we didn't have anything taken - but had to be on your guard and meant you couldn't fully relax.
Greens were far too slow though
Great clubhouse, don’t want to play this again
Nice course and good condition but poor service from the beer caddy We had 21 players that would have purchased beers and food but the caddy did not come round until 14th hole A missed chance on selling
Played this course many times before And always impressed.
I played well so I really enjoyed it good course with some great holes staff superb very friendly
An interesting course which felt like two courses put together, front nine tight and typical of the region and the back nine more open. Relatively short so driver not needed unless going for the green. Facilities very good with large putting green and driving range. I scored above my handicap so was happy!
Great transfers and great golf
Never been before but will try it again like I have with most the courses I have played over there some tough holes may be a little easier next time
Very good
Had an absolutely terrible time at Marbella golf and country (after we eventually got here!) not sure how our transfers can send us to the wrong course - good thing we checked when we tried to sign in otherwise that would have been another hour wasted looking for a taxi. 3 hours for the front 9 waiting on every single shot. We walked in after 9 as it was just ridiculous. Have complained to Yourgolftravel and Alex Mook who booked our trip and have heard nothing back. As always when you’re booking something they’re on the phone non-stop but as as soon as you have an issue they go awol. Never happened on any of the golf trips I’ve organised in the past and very very disappointed in our treatment from Yourgolftravel and lack of response.
We have played here before so knew t would be a tough final round. You really have to think about things. staff great and the manager Mike is a really nice guy, nothing too much trouble for him.
A course of 2 halves. The front 9 is stunning yet a little quirky. It’s carved into the hills so lots of beautiful high tee shots and some blind ones too. The back 9 is completely different, flat and actually rather mundane. Nice clubhouse.
Nice course in good condition with some challenging holes.Would play it again
Followed a couple of four balls who were so slow it took all the fun out of the front nine. The course martials eventually spoke with them and things approved.
found front 9 a bit weird some holes just crazy but interesting and hard Signs very poor got lost numerous times in buggies
WE ALL JUST LOVED THE PLACE
Scenic course all greens reachable in regulation but the greens will hurt you!
Didn't enjoy this course, some ridiculously hard par 4s
This was our first experience of golfing in Spain. Very glad to have the buggy! Beautiful views and vistas all around. Very good value in the bar.
Great course for every golfer
Greens and some fairways a bit ropey
The early holes are mainly played up or down valleys with scrub land on the edges. A wayward shot is severely punished. The back 9 is I think an old olive grove and was more forgiving. The clubhouse facu#ilities were excellent.
Not half as nice as i expected, greens were very poor, overall not a great course
Lovely course and setting with excellent facilities and staff. Fantastic experience.
Roger played, he played with some very nice French people. All very helpful at the course.
Quite a hard course but fair.
Front nine was horrible and dangerous did not enjoy at all back nine was quite nice but the overall experience was not good. Would not recommend
Challenging course that needs to be played twice. Easy arrival and book in process. Good facilities and nice post game bar restaurant outlook. Excellent course to play if in this region.
Great views and very plush facilities. Shop was excellent value. As part of our packag e the course represented value for money. Course presented problems for high handicappers. Enjoyed the experience though.
Played this course a few times now and I love it. The course manager make us most welcome and the hot sandwiches on the course are a must try. Plan to play this one again next year as a firm favourite of ours.
Good course with some challenging holes.
Got rained off so can only rate this off a previous visit usually in great condition and staff are very helpful
Upon arrival at clubhouse we were impressed by the interior of same but unfortunately this did not extend to the course which, particularly the first nine, was something of a let down, being quite untidy and lacking good management -- the bunkers clearly had not been properly raked in days whilst the holes had not been changed in days.
Best course of the trip. Good greens and lovely facilities.
Had requested to play in 2 x 3 balls but were forced to play 2 4 balls with people we didn't know. Receptionist was pretty rude. Front nine had far too many blind shots and quirky/gimmicky holes, back nine a lot better.
A good looking course that had a tight front nine where a driver was used sparingly. Tee to green was ok, not the best we have encountered, but the greens were patchy, very soft and marked with pitch and foot marks. Not the best course in the area.
Well maintained and a reasonable challenge of golf for all standards, I would recommend this golf course.
great course and facilities very warm welcome from staff well worth a visit.
Great coarse and superb greens by no way an easy coarse but superb condition, two very different sides front 9 very tight, back 9 very open.
On a par with any golf course
