Moray Golf Club lies in the middle of a string of championship courses in the North of Scotland. Moray is fortunate to have fantastic links courses designed by two of Britain's finest golf course architects.
This isn't just a golf club, it is a living piece of Scottish history that has remained remarkably true to Old Tom Morris’s 1889 vision. The gorse is thick, the bunkers are deep and revetted, and the turf has that unmistakable 'crunch' that only centuries-old links land can provide. It is a place where the game feels raw and authentic, far removed from the manicured artifice of modern resort golf.
Who is this for?

Who is it best for?
Golfing groups who appreciate history, challenging par 4s and a post-round dram of world-class single malt.

Although golf was played as early as 1875 the Club was formally opened in 1889 to an Old Tom Morris design and subsequently refined by other renowned golf architects including Harry S Colt.
The Old Course is a links in the classic sense though not particularly long, Old Tom has protected his gem with bundles of gorse and numerous deep pot bunkers. He must have been very keen on his own creation, as he often played it himself.

The New Course, converted into an 18 hole test in 1979 by the late Sir Henry Cotton, is an equally challenging proposition. Cotton however, as is the case with many of his other creations, has placed the emphasis on accurate ball-striking from the tee; stray off line and the punishment will be uncompromising.
Recently Howard Swann golf designs have been assisting the club in develop the new course, where it has entered the top 100 Rankings in Golf World and National Club Golfer.
