Willie Park and J.H. Taylor are the duo behind the fantastic golf course at Notts Golf Club, which traverses wonderful undulating ground, cutting through beautiful mature woodland. Often known better by the name Hollinwell, Notts Golf Club has hosted a number of high profile professional and amateur events, and its long term plan is to earn the right to host the Walker Cup.

Heather, ferns and gorse line the narrow fairways at Notts, giving the layout a distinct heathland feel. From the championship tees, the course can be extended to just over 7,100 yards, making it a formidable proposition. Hollinwell has a terrific flow and rhythm, progressing smoothly from hole to hole, and saving the most impressive challenges for last. The signature hole has got to be the downhill 13th, which measures 228 yards and is played to a green encircled by no less than six bunkers.
Notts is a little known commodity, but those in the know will testify that it is a superb golfing experience.
