OLD THORNS MANOR HOTEL, GOLF & COUNTRY ESTATE
1981 saw the completion of Old Thorns outstanding golf course after years of careful planning and construction, under the supervision of Peter Allis and Dave Thomas.
The standard of the course is evident from the illustrious four-ball that graced the official inauguration: Jack Nicklaus, Seve Ballesteros, Isao Aoki, and then Open champion Bill Rogers.
Mature woodland, natural springs, lakes and traditional style bunkers give the course real character, and the 6,581 yard result is a proposition that will provide even the best players with a genuine challenge.
The past 2 years have seen a number of changes with a re-development programme of up to £20 million being spent on Old Thorns. New facilities include the new opening of an additional 59 contemporary bedrooms taking Old Thorns to a new 82 bedroom hotel with a new pro shop, restaurants, sports bar and reception area due for completion by late summer 2009

The Health Spa is open from 7am to 10pm weekdays and 7am to 8pm at weekends. We welcome children to use the Health Spa between the hours of 10am and 6pm daily

The Greenview Restaurant is an elegant but informal place, offering all-day dining 7 days a week in a modern setting overlooking the 9th and 18th greens and the course beyond.
