Just a quick note about our weekend at Old Thorns. We had fantastic weather and a fabulous course. Staff at the hotel were very attentive and looked after us very well. Food was also very good. So, all in all, a great weekend.

Just to let you know that we had a fantastic stay at Old Thorns. The hotel is extremely comfortable, the food and the golf is first class. We will definitely be going back. Many thanks for your help in booking the break. Kind regards,

We had a great golf break to Old Thorns last weekend. The golf course was in excellent condition and everyone was very impressed. This was our first "away tour" and we intend to make it an annual event. Organising the break was made very easy with your knowledge, expertise and invaluable assistance. We will have no hesitation in using your services again in the future. Many thanks,

We made our second 2 day visit to Old Thorns in six months which undoubtedly suggests we were more than happy with the venue. Old Thorns is a challenging course with no two holes alike set in beautiful parkland, we had a number of seasoned golfers none of which found the test an easy one. A golf buggy is recommended for those that are less than fit, but don't be put off it's a great course and we found the condition of the fairways and greens in excellent order in October and April, you will enjoy the experience.
The rooms are five star standard, I believe they have recently been upgraded, excellent decor, flat screen TV in every room with complimentary tea & coffee, it's a pity you don't spend much time in the room? The restaurant is superbly situated overlooking the 1st & 18th green, nice ambience and excellent service, all my party was delighted with the breakfast and 2 course evening meal that was included. We are considering a third visit later in the year? Best regards,
John
May I compliment Your Golf Travel for the ease of organisation (considering half the party were from America). The contact and arrangements at each of the golf courses was second to none and everyone had a great time. My thanks and compliments also to Old Thorns, the food and service was as good as ever and the course in great condition. Regards,
Mike
I have just returned from a weekend golf break at Old Thorns Manor with the girls and it was fantastic so I thought I would let you know the ins and outs of our golf trip.
The hotel at Old Thorns is great and the staff we very professional and always willing to help. An example of this was when they had made an error with our reservation time for dinner. To fix the problem they agreed to seat us at the time we had originally booked and then offered us a complimentary a la carte meal. The package we had booked entitled us to a meal from the carvery so to be able to order from the menu was a nice touch.
Our rooms were very comfortable and the whole hotel was generally a really nice place to be. It was quite warm at night and the hotel kindly provided us with fans for our rooms because of the lack of air conditioning.
The golf course was pretty tough compared with what we are used to but we really enjoyed it none the less. The handicaps were quite varied and everyone enjoyed the course which suggests it is playable for just about anyone. We would advise buggies as some of the inclines are quite difficult to negotiate if you are getting on a bit. The course was also in surprisingly good condition despite the bad weather prior to the trip.
All in all our golf holiday was a great success and we would all recommend Old Thorns for a weekend golf break and Your Golf Travel as the place to go for a great deal!

We recently went on a golf break to Old Thorns Manor and loved every minute of it.
The golf course was very enjoyable. Our group of four had a good spread in terms of handicap and we all loved the course which would suggest to us that it is playable yet challenging for all golfers. All of the holes were lovely but the really memorable holes were the 4th and the 16th. The overall condition of the course was superb and the greens were the best any of us had played on in years. To play a great course for such a reasonable amount of money represented outstanding value so a big thanks to Your Golf Travel!
The clubhouse was a great place to enjoy a refreshing drink after our rounds and boy did we need it! We were very lucky with the weather and were applying sun cream rather than donning our waterproofs! There were lots of TVs playing sport in the clubhouse and the food was of a high standard. The service was bordering on the slow side but we were in no rush so just had a couple more drinks than we were expecting!
The hotel was as good as the golf and our rooms were clean, well kept and very comfortable. Upon our arrival the staff let us know there was a suite available they kindly upgraded us. If we return for another golf holiday at Old Thorns we would happily pay for the upgrade after experiencing the suite first hand!
Overall we all rated the golf trip to Old Thorns as a 9 out of 10. This is the 7th year of our Golf Society and this Hotel and Golf course is the best one yet. We would recommend Old Thorns to all golfers and particularly societies as a must play. We will definitely be returning soon and will be booking with Your Golf Travel again as well.

We had previously visited Old Thorns on a golf trip last year and although we had enjoyed the golf course it was a little wet underfoot so we wanted another go at it in all its glory! We were blessed with perfect weather...very little wind - ideal conditions to play golf. The greens in particular were superb. They were true and lightning fast...very fun to putt on.
The accommodation, food and welcome were excellent. The drinks were expensive but just down the road there was an excellent country pub with a wide choice of real ales.
We all thoroughly enjoyed our second Old Thorns golf break visit and will certainly be coming back next year. The Sunday Special golf break package with two rounds of golf, dinner and bed and breakfast is fantastic value for money and, as always, booking with Your Golf Travel was easy and efficient. We'll be using YGT for future golf holidays for sure.

Our golf break to Old Thorns Manor was superb. We will certainly be using Your Golf Travel when we book our next golf break as we thought overall service was excellent and as far as value for money goes there is only one winner!
The hotel was excellent. The food in the Carvery was very good, and the room in the Peter Alliss suite was spacious and very comfortable. We enjoyed some time in the Spa and even booked a massage which set us up nicely for our second game of golf...it’s certainly something I could get used to!
We really enjoyed the golf course which was a formidable yet enjoyable challenge. We would suggest that some people may like a buggy as the course as it was quite heavy walking with some very steep climbs. The greens are excellent and the layout was stunning.
Fantastic venue and a fantastic golf break...10/10.
