A short revue of our golf break to the Western Algarve 14 - 21 May 2011:
We stayed at the Pestana Dom Joao II on the outskirts of Alvor which was an excellent base. The daily breakfasts were good with a nice selection on offer from the buffet every day. The accommodation was perfectly situated considering the courses we were due to play so thanks for the recommendations! We had a little trouble finding our way around but this was our only gripe from the golf holiday.
We played all 27 holes at Vila Sol at some time or another and we thought they were all excellent. The layout of the holes is superb and you feel like you are playing a new course every time you change the order of the holes you are playing. The course was also in great condition and all in all was a joy to play. The clubhouse facilities were also good.
Vale de Pinta and Gramacho were also good courses that again were in excellent condition. These layouts were testing but fair and again the clubhouses were perfectly adequate.
Alto and Silves were the other two courses we had on our Algarve golf tour and although they weren’t as testing as the other courses we played they were still perfectly enjoyable. We were due to play Silves on a Wednesday but had to cancel thanks to a wild rainstorm. One quick call to Your Golf Travel and the game was rescheduled so thanks for that!
Overall we had a pretty good trip and the service from YGT was very good, I will certainly use your company again...hopefully I will be able to find another bargain golf break!
