Prestwick St Nicholas is a prestigious and established club located on the idyllic shores of the Firth of Clyde, and while it may bay in the shadow of some of Ayrshire’s most prestigious names, it is an outstanding course in its own right.

The club’s rich heritage includes having Old Tom Morris as a founding member, and the golf course itself has changed little since the club moved to its present site in 1892. Lying between the Glasgow-Ayr railway line and the Firth of Clyde, the course is a traditional links course with firm, sandy turf and gorse-lined fairways.
Though not long – St Nicholas measures a little over 6,000 yards – there is no shortage of difficulty; out of bounds is a factor in 12 holes, placing emphasis on accuracy and patience over brute power. This charming course is rounded off by a majestic clubhouse, and is a terrific addition to any golf tour along the Ayrshire coast.
