Despite only opening for play in 1991, Real Club De Golf De Sevilla has a firmly established reputation as a world class tournament venue, and is the Andalucian capital's finest golfing institution.
The course itself was the brainchild of Jose Maria Olazabal, and its quality has been recognised with the award of high profile events including the 2004 World Cup of Golf, at which English duo Luke Donald and Paul Casey emerged victorious.
Any keen follower of golf will be familiar with two-time Masters champion Olazabal's style of play: while often erratic from the tee, Jose Maria's short game is the match for anyone in the professional game. These characteristics are essentially reflected at Sevilla, where distance does not represent a great advantage, rather the small and subtle greens demand a sharp short game.
Olazabal's early foray into the world of course design has been extremely well received, explaining why Sevilla has already cemented a place inside Europe's top 100.
