Santa Clara Golf Marbella sits five minutes from Marbella's centre and around 30 minutes from Málaga airport, tucked into the heart of the Costa del Sol where most visitors don't think to look. It's an upmarket stop built around an 18-hole par-71 course that works for single-figure players and higher handicappers alike, with open views across the Mediterranean, the mountains behind, and on clear days, Gibraltar and the Moroccan coast beyond.
The vibe
Open, spacious and scenic. You get big Mediterranean views, the Sierra Blanca range framing the inland holes, and fewer trees than you'd expect on a parkland layout, which means wind can be a factor, especially in the afternoon when the breeze picks up off the coast.
The quick course take (for the golfing geeks)
The land is gently sloping, so it's more walkable than some of the hillier Costa layouts. You'll find plenty of room from the tee, but it's not a "just lash it" sort of round. The cleverness tends to show up on approaches and around the greens where subtle elevation and contouring defend par. Accuracy off the tee pays when you're trying to set up birdie chances or avoid awkward lies on the second shot.
Make it a trip
Stay in Marbella for the restaurants and nightlife, then mix Santa Clara with nearby favourites such as Aloha, Los Naranjos and La Quinta. It works brilliantly for a long weekend with friends or a week-long break where you want a solid home course and easy access to other championship layouts.
Who is this for?
Golfers looking for a high-quality Costa del Sol base that combines a strong home course with easy access to Marbella's restaurants, nightlife and other championship layouts. Suits couples, small groups and societies who want an upmarket feel without being miles from town.
Who is it best for?
Mid-to-high handicappers who want a fair test with stunning views, and anyone seeking a relaxed golf break that balances quality golf with off-course options in one of Spain's most popular destinations.

Santa Clara Golf Club
The greens are large and the fairways are relatively forgiving, but it is essential to avoid the strategically positioned bunkers that are a constant threat. Santa Clara is a relatively gentle walk, being quite flat, while the highlight undoubtedly comes around the ‘Santa Clara Corner' starting from the 12th; this picturesque sequence of par 3, 4 and 5 holes will challenge every golfer to come up with some gutsy shots, and can result in triumph or disaster.
The combination of fascinating holes and stunning scenery will ensure that every visitor to Santa Clara as part of a golf holiday will leave satisfied.

Hilly which led to some picturesque views. Much more friendly to play than nearby golf courses. Worth adding to a society booking would definitely go back. Par 3s all played really long, shame there’s not a couple of short PW over water type Par 3s

Buggies were of a poor standard, diesel kept cutting out, slow play caused by the groups in front spoilt the occasion, good scoring course if you manage yourself, true greens . Water supplied with buggies.

Lovely condition with very quick greens. Course staff a little aggressive but I guess they have to put up with all sorts of golfers
