BARCELO SHRIGLEY HALL GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB 4*

We all enjoyed the golf break at Shrigley Hall which was aided by the excellent weather during the first days of October.

The golf course proved to be a bit strenuous for many of the group due to the undulations. The first 6 holes eased us into the round but the course was much hillier than I had expected so would advise buggies for the majority of golfers. The overall condition of the course was really good though and I would certainly recommend it to the lower handicappers.

We all thought the Hotel was fine. The rooms were great, the food was good and the Staff were very helpful indeed. Your Golf Travel’s service has been good and I would not have any problem in recommending you to other golfers looking to book a weekend golf break.

Thanks so much for organising our Shrigley Hall golf break. We had a great time and everyone on the trip agreed that the golf course was a real cracker. It was in great condition despite the poor weather and the greens in particular were superb. Some of the holes were quite long and some were tight and challenging but not too difficult as to deter the higher handicappers. All in all it was a very enjoyable course to play. The clubhouse was small but friendly and OK for a post-round pint. We spoke to a few of the members and they made visiting parties feel welcome.

The hotel is massive! The rooms were clean and overall everyone was happy with the accommodation. The 3-course meal was very good and the staff were very friendly. The chef even made one sticky toffee pudding with one of the lads' lost balls inside. Good effort!

The only real downside to the whole golf break was the weather but this didn't stop our group having a great time at Shrigley Hall. Overall I'd rate the trip 8/10 and I'd say that the set up was very similar to Oulton Hall near Leeds but the Shrigley Hall golf course is much better.
