Every one of the 178 of the bedrooms is decorated in tasteful, traditional style with all the modern comforts expected from a top hotel, and most enjoy spectacular views over the magnificent mountains or coastline. The resort has an excellent variety of bedrooms, from classic right through to the most opulent suites, and as such a stay at Slieve Donard can be tailored to the demands of every individual visitor.
The Victorian construction is over a century old, and as a result is packed full of character. The Slieve Donard has a lot working in its favour, from its position next to Royal County Down, the magnificent Mourne Mountains and the rugged coastline, to the newly-completed world-class spa, all of which make it a wonderous place to enjoy a golf break or golf tour.
In 2006, the fantastic Spa at Slieve Donard opened, after collaboration with ESPA, the world's leading spa company. The facility is now one of the best in all of Europe, offering the best in modern health and beauty treatments. The ‘Active Floor' incorporates the superb 20-metre swimming pool, vitality pool, lifestyle showers and exercise facilities, in addition to the Lighthouse Lounge and Horizon Juice Bar. Upstairs on the ‘Treatment Floor', visitors can relax with a variety of massages and treatments designed to target the muscular effects of golf. This is a state-of-the-art centre, and adds a great deal to the overall package on offer at Slieve Donard.
The culinary delights of the Oaks Restaurant are accentuated by the fabulous central fireplace - the perfect place after a winter round.
Chaplin's Bar, named after the legendary comedian, who stayed at the hotel in 1921, is the perfect place for a drink and a laugh.
