Spyglass Hill is part of the phenomenal grouping of courses to span the Monterey Peninsula, and in spite of the presence of Pebble Beach, many locals consider it to be the best and indeed the toughest of the lot.

In 1966, the now revered Robert Trent Jones unveiled his masterpiece at Spyglass Hill, a course that is carved emphatically through the stands of pines and cypress trees that make the landscape so special. Although it measures a modest 6,810 yards, Spyglass Hill remains relevant today despite the colossal distances that modern technology permits. This is due to Trent Jones' incredible design, as well as the unrelenting coastal winds that can at times render the course almost unplayable.
Spyglass Hill is still part of the impressive triumvirate that hosts the AT&T Pebble Beach pro-am, and carries with it an army of dedicated followers. A number of brave souls have ventured to assert that Spyglass is better than its more illustrious neighbour at Pebble Beach, and whether that is true or not, the course remains at the heart of any good golfing experience on the Monterey Peninsula.
