Tamarind Beach Hotel and Yacht Club is a lively Italian-managed beachfront establishment that offers a more intimate alternative to the island's other major destination, the Canouan Resort.
Tamarind's 40 seaside hideaways are surrounded by tropical gardens on a long white sand beach. The low-rise property features two thatched roof restaurants - the Palapa with its delightful open terrace at the water's edge offering Italian and West Indian cuisine, and the Pirates Cove, an informal bar serving lighter fare.
One of St Vincent and the Grenadines' best kept secrets, the Tamarind Beach Hotel enjoys its own beautiful stretch of beach, ideal for swimming, snorkelling, scuba diving and a host of non-motorised water sports, such as kayaking, windsurfing and sailing. The friendly staff here will also book you tee times at the Trump International 18-hole championship golf course, situated at the Canouan Resort nearby.
Mount Royal, the highest point on the island, offers panoramic 360-degree views and is particularly worth a visit. Alternatively, for the more adventurous, the Tobago Cays can easily be explored with prior arrangement.
The hotel itself offers 8 beachfront suites and 32 deluxe beachfront rooms, equipped with telephone, personal in-room safe, overhead ceiling fan, mini bar, hair dryer and TV.
