Tenby is the oldest course in Wales, and is one of many classics in the immense design portfolio of James Braid. Views of Caldey Island and Tenby Harbour are among the delights of this Pembrokeshire destination, while the course itself is among the least heralded of any quality links layouts in the British Isles.
Though not long, at 6,300 yards, Tenby has all the exacting characteristics of traditional links golf. The small greens are hard and fast, and are protected by devilish pot bunkers. The hog back fairways are extremely hard to hit with regularity, and the presence of great banks of gorse makes the tee shots even more intimidating.
Rugged and charming, Tenby is perhaps misunderstood; while many believe it to be a quirky holiday course, Tenby is in fact an outstanding seaside layout that is a central part of any good golf tour in Pembrokeshire.
