Wales National Course

The Vale is among a select few golf resorts in the UK to offer guests two high quality courses. The parkland layouts that encircle the superb four-star resort hotel are a joy to play, giving wonderful variety to every stay.

Stay and play at The Vale and you and your group of golf society will have the chance to tackle what is a genuine tour standard championship course – the Wales National. A par of 73 and a full length of 7,433 yards give insight into the challenge of this monster layout, but that’s by no means the end of the story. The Wales National is superbly conditioned, thanks in part to its USGA specification greens, and its collection of water hazards and acres of sand mean that trouble is never too far away. Long and challenging, yes, but the Wales National is a wonderful treat that every golfer will enjoy.





Lake Course

As its name suggests, the Lake Course is dominated by water; in fact, a 20-acre lake comes into play on no less than 8 of its holes, creating plenty of drama and no little challenge. The signature 12th hole and its island green will make nerves jangle and will be a highlight of any round – many a tale to be told in the bar!

I don’t know if you’ll recall but you kindly booked us in for a recent golfing break in Wales (The Vale) & Bath/Wick (Park Resort)-I just wanted to let you know they were both great! The golf courses, food, facilities etc. were just what we wanted. The Vale was enhanced (for me at least) by having the Welsh Rugby team there warming up for their success on Saturday. The Park upgraded us to a luxury four poster bedded room. Thanks again.

We booked the Sunday Special package for our golf break at The Vale Resort in Wales. It was our first golf break to a proper golf resort and to be honest we were overwhelmed by the sheer size of the place when we first arrived. However I am glad to say it was much more friendly, amenable and cosy than our first impression suggested.

The hotel rooms were pleasant, comfortable and well appointed. Although there was a lively wedding reception taking place in the evening the rooms were well placed for a quiet and restful night. The doorman was extremely helpful and stored our trolleys and clubs in a locked room and took great care of them by monitoring access to the store.

The National Golf Course was beautiful, challenging and very, very long with an interesting variety of challenges. The National Course was certainly a new experience for us less talented golfers but left a good sense of achievement but maybe not a scorecard to brag about! The lakes, wildfowl, water lilies etc all added a certain something to be enjoyed and we are glad to say we survived the experience.

We played the Lakes Course on the second day, a shorter course with fewer water features than its name suggested. This course was more suited to our level of golf and although the name would suggest different, it didn’t feature as much water as the National course. Again a good day’s play.

Dinner was served in the golf club restaurant where the surroundings and service was good as was the food. Breakfast was served in the hotel restaurant and was very good with excellent service.

The service from Your Golf Travel was professional and efficient as per usual and we thought the value for money was brilliant. We have confidence in the company and know that we can contact them for information and advice – just wish they could help improve our handicaps.

Overall the trip rated 9/10 and we will be back in touch for future golf holidays.

Our party of 12 had a fantastic weekend golf break at the luxurious Vale Hotel, Golf & Spa Resort.

The golf was excellent and we were especially impressed by The Lake Course which has been superbly sculptured out of the Welsh countryside. The Wales National Course was good as well but measuring almost 1000 yards longer than the lakes made it very challenging indeed.

The hotel facilities, dining and staff at the resort were well worthy of their 4 stars.

We would like to extend a massive thanks to Your Golf Travel who enabled the whole weekend to run very smoothly. The value for money on offer at YGT continues to impress so keep up the good work!

The weekend at the Vale was great, and the weather ended up being kind to us too. Will definitely be booking another golf break with Your Golf Travel again as we're already trying to find another weekend that all four of us can go back to tackle the Wales National course again.

The Vale is a stunning venue, very modern and less than 3 hours from London makes it very attractive for Londoners looking for a golfing weekend away. Dinner in the restaurant was great and I had some of the best steak I have had in a long time and the breakfast spread is perfect too. The Wales National is a long, testing course and despite the fact that it was a bit waterlogged after all the recent rain in Wales, we really enjoyed the challenge. An eagle on the 7th by one of the group really got us inspired to try and beat the course, but don't be fooled, this is one tough round! The Lake Course is visually stunning, and plays a lot easier than the National. A great 210 yard par three down the side of the hill and lots of water features make for picturesque surroundings. The clubhouse, pro shop and 19th hole are all very welcoming to visitors and we had a great lunch before setting off back home. Probably the most surprising thing is how friendly all of the other guests were on the course, in the bar and around the clubhouse, almost definitely a sign that everyone who visits the Vale will have a great time. A nice touch was the text messages we received from Your Golf Travel wishing us good luck for our rounds. Thanks very much for suggesting this venue and organising our trip, a great weekend away!

We had a fantastic time at The Vale Hotel, Golf & Spa Resort for our golf break. They made us all very welcome, the staff were always very courteous, and the food was excellent, both courses were in very good condition and very challenging for us all. We were blessed with good weather. Thank you once again to Your Golf Travel for making our tour a great success.

We had a great golf holiday and can confirm everything about the hotel and the food was excellent. The National course was very testing and was long so the rounds took about 5 hours.

I understand this is normal but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Weekend golf break at The Vale was good. The weather was mixed but can't do anything about that I guess! I thought the Wales National was a great course and it was kept in really good nick. It was challenging without being impossible for our mix of standards.

Clubhouse was good and the beer prices were to be expected for a hotel. The pro shop was really helpful and they were really accommodating for everything we asked.

The hotel was ok, but starting to look a little dated and worn in places I thought. One of our rooms had trouble with a few things such as air con and hot water. The evening food was excellent and the allowance more than enough to have some good fodder. Breakfast on the other hand was very average. I didn't think the hotel staff were particularly welcoming and quite moody! Don't know if we caught them on a bad weekend!

Your Golf Travels service was excellent and I always recommend them to others. In terms of the weekend everything went smoothly.

I look forward to booking another trip next year.

The Vale Hotel, Golf & Spa Resort proved to be a superb 4 star hotel with excellent rooms and two interesting and challenging courses.

The food was good but the choice was limited and not everyone goes for nouvelle cuisine. Normally we gathered that you could also dine in the golf clubhouse restaurant but when we there it only opened at lunchtime albeit with a good snack menu.

However, in the evening we could also choose from the Bar Menu in the main restaurant. Staff were cheerful and very helpful and the breakfast buffet was fantastic.

Excellent value for money and a very convenient location. I can strongly recommend the destinations and YGT.
