TREVOSE GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB
Location: Constantine Bay, North Cornwall, 3 miles West of Padstow, 11 miles North of Newquay PL28 8JBTrevose Golf & Country Club is arguably the finest golfing destination in the South-West, featuring an outstanding championship links course and two excellent nine-hole loops.
Championship Course
Trevose's championship golf course was opened in 1924, and was designed by the esteemed Harry Colt, whose outstanding pedigree is a result of his work at Augusta, Wentworth, Pine Valley, Sunningdale, Muirfield and Royal Portrush, a list that should help to underline the quality at Trevose. The remarkable beauty of the Cornish coast is the backdrop for Colt's 6,863 yard classic, which is comprised of two loops; the outward half hugs the rugged seaside, before you turn for home and play the inward links of the closing stretch. Golfers will battle the elements that batter this exposed landscape, where the smooth and pure putting surfaces are protected by treacherous pot bunkers and severe rough.
Headland Course
The Headland Course is a charming little nine-holer that was laid out by the legendary Peter Aliss in 1993, and offers good variety during a stay at Trevose. The loop works its way out to the 5th tee at the point of the headland, from which the views towards St.Ives are incredible. The greens on the Headland rival the quality of the Championship Course.
Short Course
Trevose's Short Course is a beautiful little nine-hole course that is ideal for beginners, juniors, or golfers looking for some light relief from the rigours of the Championship layout. Visitors are sure to enjoy the views out to sea as the course winds its way around the ancient Chapel of St. Constantine.
Trevose's range of accommodation options are together capable of hosting up to 120 golfers.
The luxury Treheul Apartments overlook the golf course, and afford spectacular views of the Atlantic coastline. The spacious units are furnished and decorated in a contemporary fashion, and are sound-proofed and double-glazed throughout. All are equipped with a well-fitted kitchen and a comfortable living area, which will ensure total comfort and relaxation.
The five compact bungalows are situated just 50 yards from the club house, and are perfect for golfing groups and families. All feature large open-plan living areas that are perfect for socialising, a private garden, and space to accommodate five people each.
The seven chalets that are located next to the 18th green are ideal for families, as the swimming pool, tennis courts and short course are on the doorstep. Recent work on the chalets has made the living space even more comfortable.
Originally Trevose's clubhouse, the Fairway Cottage can sleep six people, and has a large living area that overlooks the golf course.
The newly-added Dormy Flats offer visiting golfers simple yet comfortable accommodation, overlooking the swimming pool and 18th green, and are a good alternative to the luxury Treheul apartments.
This wide range ensures that Trevose has an option for every travelling golfer, and can satisfy all demands for a superb golf and leisure break.
Trevose is home to three well-surfaced hard tennis courts, and also a large outdoor swimming pool, ideal for taking advantage of the South-West's superb summer weather. The Planet Beauty Salon offers a wide range of treatments including pedicures, manicures, waxing, massages and bridal packages.
North Cornwall is famous for its iconic sandy beaches, and from Trevose it is easy to visit the tremendous Harlyn Bay and Watergate Bay. Heading inland to the East, Bodmin Moor is a nature reserve that will fascinate any ornithologists, but the true Cornish experience is to be found in the tremendous fishing villages littered along the coast; picturesque Padstow is only three miles from Trevose. The acclaimed Eden Project is also well worth a visit.
Trevose has an outstanding practice ground, where you can hone your skills or enlist the advice of the resident PGA professionals.
With seating for 130 and views of the coast and Trevose Head, the restaurant is a truly memorable dining experience.
3 miles from Trevose is the fishing village of Padstow, where TV chef Rick Stein has opened an array of restaurants, brasseries and cafés.
