The Manor Course, as it is now known, was in need of some attention, and the management wisely turned to Ross McMurray of European Golf Design, a highly regarded architect who was also commissioned to oversee improvements at Woburn, and the 2010 Ryder Cup venue in Wales, the Celtic Manor Resort. The resultant 6,547 yards comprise one of the area's best courses, and have already hosted the PGA Europro players.
The excellent putting surfaces are constructed in line with USGA principles, ensuring superb condition and adding to the terrific outcome. The golf course is ably assisted by Sprowston Manor's fantastic new practice facility, complete with a 27-bay floodlit range and the expertise of no less than 5 PGA professionals, all reputed for their superb tuition.

Sprowston Manor exudes historic charm from the moment you enter, with an avenue of towering oaks guiding the way up the drive to the elegant manor house, originally constructed in 1559.
The delightful estate is encircled by ancient trees, giving it a fantastically tranquil isolation, and making it the perfect place for a relaxing getaway. The 94 guest bedrooms have benefited from recent investment, and are now extremely comfortable.

The imposing Norwich Cathedral, with its striking Romanesque architecture, has stood as an icon of East Anglia for over 900 years, and its fascinating heritage makes for a very interesting visit. Of a comparable vintage is Norwich Castle, built by the Normans as a royal palace but used primarily through its history as a prison. The nearby Norfolk Broads is a designated national park, and is Britain's largest protected area of wetland.
The challenge at the 7th, the Manor's signature hole, is to avoid the water that skirts the fairway.
