Wensum Course

The Wensum Course hosted the 2011 European Championship and in doing so became the only course in Norfolk to have hosted a PGA Europro Tour event. Unsurprisingly then this challenging golf course requires powerful and accurate hitting from the tee. The high quality putting greens are well protected by numerous water hazards and the course is also exposed to the elements meaning the wind can play a big part in your battle with Old Man Par.

Valley Course

More so than the Wensum Course the Valley Course requires accuracy from the tee as extremely penal rough awaits any misplaced shots. A common feature as Wensum Valley is the top class putting surfaces so hitting the greens in regulation should give the golfer a chance to score well by holing putts.

A more manageable 9 hole course awaits those who are just starting out in the game or those just looking for a less demanding round of golf.

Hotel Information

Guests can enjoy 90 well appointed, en-suite rooms that boast gorgeous views over the surrounding Norfolk countryside. Modern features including complimentary Wi-Fi, direct dial telephones and TVs will ensure a comfortable and connected stay.

Guests at Wensum Valley can also enjoy the on-site leisure facilities that include an indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room and spa pool. For those of a sportier disposition there is also a fully equipped gym.

Wensum Valley also boasts extensive conference facilities. Combine this with all else on offer and Wensum Valley is an ideal venue for a team building weekend or a place to discuss business in relaxing surroundings.

If the choice of three golf courses isn’t enough, Wensum Valley also offers guests the chance to enjoy a multitude of country pursuits including fishing and clay pigeon shooting.

Just a few comments about our golf break to Wensum Valley Hotel. The four of us thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. We played both courses and found them both challenging and interesting to play. The courses were in excellent condition with the greens on the back nine of the Valley course rather difficult to read. The rooms were spacious and clean. The food provided was excellent and good value. All of the staff were friendly and very helpful.

Thanks for the recommendation YGT!

Both golf courses were in excellent condition and the greens especially were a pleasure to putt on. The Wensum course favours lower handicap players as you need accurate tee shots on most holes. The hotel was clean and tidy, as was my room. The food was excellent, offering a wide variety of choice and reasonable prices. All the staff were friendly and helpful and I think it is on a par with Barnham Broom which I visited last year. Overall this was an excellent golf break and well worth the price. I will be booking with you again in the future and have recommended Your Golf Travel to players at my local course.

Thanks for all your help and recommendations.

The atmosphere from the surroundings and the reception staff was very impressive and we knew it was going to be good from the begining. The rooms are excellent and were well maintained during our visit. One of the things that always make an impression wherever we go are the bar prices as we know some establishments make up their accomadation charges in the bar. But we were very pleased to see that this was not the case at Wensum as we paid what we would call pub prices. Did we drink more because of this I cannot remember!!!

Now the food and restaurant, well the quality, selection and presentation was first class and by far the best that we have experienced in our trips. The staff in the restaurant were very friendly and had to put up with a lot of banter which they took in good part. Especially the delightful and pretty Sam who we all fell in love with.

The two courses are superb and very challenging compared to where we play at Westgate which is a links course with hardly any trees and is flat. So the contours, trees and water were a real experience for us, but with three days of hot sunshine and clear skies we enjoyed every minute. I think by now you will have got the impression we enjoyed our visit to Wensum and I would be pleased to rate our visit a Super 10.
