The course itself is a 7,000 yard championship test that has
hosted many prestigious regional events. The layout was mapped by Fred Hawtree,
of the esteemed British architectural firm, Hawtree & Sons, and its unique
character stems from the blend of inland and seaside ground that it spans.
Having implemented some structural and design changes, Westport hosted the 2002 Irish PGA Championship,
indicating that the course is better than ever, and ideally suited for
inclusion in your golf tour of Sligo and Ireland’s
amazing North West.
