- 1 Night Bed and Breakfast at Best Western PLUS Windmill Village Golf Hotel
- 2 Rounds at Windmill Village Golf Club
1 Night, 2 Rounds
Windmill Village Hotel, Golf Club & Spa sits on the edge of Coventry in its own 400-acre estate and it's got a proper bit of history behind it. The original building dates back to 1640 and local legend even claims Dick Turpin once stayed here. These days, the only thing being held up is your mates on the first tee.
It works brilliantly as a no-fuss Midlands base, whether you're squeezing in a quick overnight or turning it into a weekend with golf, spa time and a decent meal. You're also well placed for a bit of non-golf itinerary, with the NEC around five minutes away and Coventry a short drive, plus easy access to Shakespeare Country and Warwick Castle if you fancy mixing in some sightseeing.
The vibe is very much "golf resort without the stiffness". You've got a refurbished hotel, two different dining options depending on how lively you want the evening to be and a leisure club that makes it easy to unwind after your round. The parkland course suits mixed-ability groups and societies looking for a sociable base where everyone can enjoy the golf without anyone getting battered.
Who is this for?
Golfers after a relaxed, no-fuss break on an accessible parkland course, with quality hotel facilities, spa and leisure options all on-site. Ideal for mixed-ability groups, societies wanting a sociable base or anyone combining golf with a visit to the Midlands.
Who is it best for?
Mid-to-high handicappers and beginners who want an enjoyable, forgiving round without the pressure of a championship test, plus groups and couples looking for a well-rounded resort experience with strong off-course amenities.

The 18-hole golf course is all about strategy; with a series of par 3’s to ease you into your round, with just enough distance and water hazards to challenge a seasoned golfer.
Overlooking the West Midlands countryside, the Par 70 course offers panoramic views, tree-lined fairways, water features, cross-cut fairways, mature trees, and well-drained manicured greens in excellent condition.
Though not long by modern standards, the course has some teeth, courtesy of the two large lakes that come into play on numerous occasions. The monstrous 7th, at 521 yards from the championship markers, has the power to make or break your score on the outward half.
The well-stocked golf shop stocks clothes and accessories from leading brands including FootJoy and Callaway to name but a few. This means that there are no concerns if you happen to have left some of the golfing paraphernalia back home.
The most memorable holes at Windmill Village are the 10th and 11th, where the large lake, home to a sizeable coy carp, skirt the fairways. A golf break at Windmill Village is perfect for sociable golf, and is accommodating for all kinds of players.
The hotel has 105 newly refurbished bedrooms, so it's a comfortable base for a golf break, especially for groups who want everything in one place. Rooms are nicely decorated with good-quality furnishings, which is exactly what you want after a long day on the course. Everything feels fresh and well maintained, so whether you're here for a quick overnight or a longer stay, you'll be sorted.
Food and drink comes in two flavours. Loft18 Restaurant overlooks the golf course and serves an à la carte menu during the week, ideal for a relaxed post-round dinner with fairway views as the light fades. If your group prefers something more casual, Scott's Bar & Lounge is the livelier option. It's inspired by British motorcycling culture and it's a proper social space, with Italian favourites, comforting classics and Starbucks drinks available throughout the day. There's also regular live music and events, so it suits trips where the evening atmosphere matters as much as the golf.
Once you've finished your round, the Leisure Club is a real bonus. There's an 18-metre indoor swimming pool heated to a constant 30 degrees, plus a sauna, steam room and a state-of-the-art gym. The spa rounds things out with a wide range of treatments and packages across three separate treatment rooms, which is handy if you're mixing golf with a bit of downtime or you're travelling with a partner who wants more than 18 holes and a pint.
For a golf break, it's an easy place to organise. You can walk straight from your room to the first tee, the facilities are geared towards groups and societies, and there's enough variety in dining and leisure options to keep everyone happy, whether they're here purely for the golf or combining it with a bit of relaxation and sightseeing in the Heart of England.

We had a great weekend at Windmill. The facility had everything we were looking for, friendly staff and a good restaurant / bar. The rooms we had were basic and a little dated but comfortable.

Nice hotel, good clean comfortable rooms. The golf course is unusual with multiple par 3’s. Only negative was the road noise from the dual carriageway

Good rooms, hot weather so the fan in the room was great. The only down side was the water pressure was very poor which made it hard to get a good shower . But everything apart from that was great . We will be booking for next year .

We made a booking for a group of 6 men for golf, dinner, bed and breakfast. The rooms provided included one 3/4 size bed and no sofa or other sleeping option. This is unacceptable for the price paid but also should be communicated in advance. We ended up booking rooms at the hotel over the road to solve the problem.

Ladies stayed in comfortabke little lodges all next to each other. Cars were able to park outside each lodge or near by which made it good for unpacking ready for golf each day. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was good both at breakfast and in the evening. There was a big wedding on Friday so I think the lunch menu was restricted and service was a bit slow in the evening but they made up for this on the Saturday as service was excellent. Plenty of seating areas inside and out around the bar and also rooms near to the restaurant where we could do our presentation. Great spa facilities which not all of us had time to use.

We travelled with our dog as the Hotel stated they were dog friendly, as a lot of other establishments do. Granted your pet can stay in your room for £25 but there is that's about it. There is nowhere to sit in a bar with your dog and have a drink. Not sure why you cannot go in their Cellar Bar with your dog as it has stone floors. Cannot fault the restaurant, Loft 18, as it was very nice and the food was excellent.

Rooms very good but as YGT didn't forward our rooming list we were split up and the chef didn't get our food order. Staff were brilliant

Don't be fooled by the short course yardage. The course will give you a kicking in a heart beat. You have to be in the right places and the greens are slopey and very fast. The course condition is great, an interesting course to play and definitely one of those you need to get to know and understand to score well.

3 par 3’s to start is quirky. The greens were in good condition and it’s a nice course if a little short

Unfortunately it was very wet for our stay. A lot of ditches so you need to know your way around. Interesting but very short course. Condition of course was fine.

Golf staff could not do more to be helpful, very friendly. Bunkers were all GUR as weather had not allowed these to be repaired before our visit. Grass on or near the fairways quite long but the greens were well kept as were the tees. Good practice putting green near to the first tee. Although the course is fairly flat there are plenty of buggies available. Thoroughly enjoyed our 3 rounds of golf ⛳️ as did all 11 ladies.
