The prestigious Barefoot Resort is the result of the combined brilliance of four greats from the golf world; the championship layouts at the prestigious golf complex were designed by Greg Norman, Davis Love III, Tom Fazio and Pete Dye, which helps to explain why it is among the most desirable for golf holiday-makers visiting Myrtle Beach.
Norman Course
Greg Norman's design at Barefoot draws influence from the Great White Shark's favourite styles of golf, with elements of links combined with the desert golf most typical of Arizona. The result is a varied challenge, where the most creative and imaginative players will feel at home. Measuring more than 7,200 yards from the tips, the Norman is bordered by the resort's magnificent flora and fauna, and is a real gem.
Love Course
Davis Love III is a native of Carolina native, and was proud to add to the rich selection at Barefoot. Love is a huge fan of the traditional US Open layouts, and elements of them are evident in his 7,000 yard creation, that is challenging and enjoyable for golfers of all abilities.
Fazio Course
The Fazio Course is a classic parkland composition, where mature pines and oaks overlook the strategically positioned sand traps. While it is shorter than its neighbours, at 6,834 yards, water infringes upon no less than 15 holes, so there is no shortage of obstacles. Both visually pleasing and superbly maintained, the Fazio Course is a real gem.
Dye Course
Arguably the finest of Barefoot's courses, the Pete Dye layout borders the perfect sand of the Carolina Bays, and is a perfect reflection of the designer's philosophy; amazing natural beauty is off-set by formidable challenges and severe obstacles. Fringed by the monumental homes of Barefoot's exclusive residential community, the Dye Course rivals anything in Myrtle Beach, and will be a highlight of any golf holiday to this popular destination.
The phenomenal Barefoot Golf Resort is best known for its amazing championship courses, laid out by some of the game’s greatest names, but best way to experience them is by taking out one of the complex’s self-catered apartments.
The two, three and four-bedroom units are equipped with a full kitchen, living room and dining area, while the panoramic views from the private balconies and terraces are a joy to behold. Within a mile of the famous sands of the Myrtle Beach coastline, the Barefoot Resort has no weaknesses, and is certainly among the most prestigious destinations in South Carolina’s golfing paradise.
Myrtle Beach may have an endless supply of golf courses, but it is also a hugely popular leisure and party destination. There are great beaches along the Carolina shoreline, while the evening action is focused on The Boardwalk, a pedestrianised area packed with restaurants and bars that really come alive after the sun comes down. The hospitality in South Carolina is the stuff of legend, and the atmosphere throughout the popular tourist resort should ensure a relaxing and enjoyable experience.
The Barefoot Resort is also the home of the comprehensive Nick Bradley School of Golf. The London native served his teaching apprenticeship soaking up the knowledge of renowned teacher David Leadbetter in Florida. Now an esteemed coach in his own right, Bradley's stable of pupils includes European #1, Justin Rose. Combining the latest technology with Bradley's landmark techniques, the School is the perfect place to hone your skills.
