HOTEL DU GOLF BARRIÈRE 4*

The Hotel du Golf Barriere was in a lovely setting overlooking the surrounding golf courses which just made us want to play even more! We ate in the Le Pommeraie as we were entertaining clients. It was very nice and we chatted about business and the days golf. The courses at Barriere were quite nice but the pace of play was painfully slow. I would recommend making the trip to nearby Golf d'Etratat or Omaha Beach as they are both excellent courses and greater value for many.

The 5 nights and 4 rounds of golf on our golf break were terrific. I would recommend the Hotel Barriere Dinard to anyone. It is more like a 5 star hotel and Dinard is one of the most beautiful towns I have ever visited in France.

We played golf at the Dinard Golf Club and it has a Pebble Beach look to it. It is along the coast and the views are spectacular. The golf course is a par 68 and the layout is very challenging. It plays like a links course with lots of roll on the fairways. The greens are firm and very smooth. This was a great course to get our golf tour started on and it was only 15 minutes from the hotel.

We also played Golf Val Andre. It too played like a links course with lots of run out on the fairways. It was a beautiful golf course and the greens were simply perfect. Look out for the 11th and 12th which have to be the signature holes. If you walk away from those 2 holes with a total of 9 strokes, you've done well! This course was slightly further from the hotel but worth the 45 minute drive!

We moved on to Omaha Beach following our time in Dinard. We played the La Mer course twice and found it to be similar in feel to the stadium courses in the states. There was some roll out on the fairways but the greens were soft. The views were spectacular. We rented buggies for all our rounds and it allowed us to survey each hole and then go back and hit our tee shots which proved to be a good strategy. At Omaha Beach we stayed at Hotel Mercure Omaha Beach which was in an ideal location really close to the golf course. The hotel is a nice little 3 star establishment. The rooms are clean and quiet and the staff are very efficient. It was nice being so close to the golf course. The 19th hole was also the dinner restaurant and the food and beverages were great.

Thanks so much for organising the golf tour. Going on the Eurotunnel was fantastic. It made everything so easy and it was great to have the freedom the car provided. I will definitely book my next golf break with Your Golf Travel...top marks!

Just back from our golf holiday to Deauville and wanted to say thanks to YGT for your help in setting up a very successful weekend golf break. Everything worked as well as I’d hoped except the weather but to be fair you can’t do much about that!

We stayed at the Hotel de Golf Barriere which was fantastic. We had dinner at the hotel every night and were glad to have that included in the golf break package. Our allowance for dinner was better than I had expected and we were actually able to order a choice of two starters and two mains off the gourmet menu. Any time we weren’t too enamoured with what was on offer they gladly changed it for us...very impressive!

Of the three golf courses we played we preferred Golf L’Amiraute. There are plenty of water hazards and bunkers to keep you on your toes and it was a real joy to play. Omaha Beach was also impressive and we enjoyed each of the nine hole loops equally. Given its location right in the coast the layouts are surprisingly unlike traditional links layouts you may experience on a golf break in Scotland but enjoyable nonetheless.

We really enjoyed our golf holiday in Normandy so thanks must go to YGT who organised the whole thing in a very professional manner. Everything went really well...we were even lucky with the weather, as on the days we played it was very good.

The hotel, where we have stayed several times before, is always nice. It really doesn't matter much whether it is seaview or campview - it is good view either way! Our room was most comfortable, breakfasts are very good and the dinners were delicious as well.

The New Golf de Deauville is a lovely course, and was in good condition. We played Saint-Julien for a change of scene and we were impressed by the lovely scenery. It was not perhaps in such a good condition as the other golf course; but was an enjoyable round of golf nonetheless.

The arrangements were spot on and both of us felt that the golf break was excellent value for money. We would not hesitate to recommend you to friends, and would ourselves be delighted to use you again.
