The clubhouse at Pwllheli is closer to the sea than any other in the United Kingdom, underlining the genuine links of the original nine holes. These were designed by Tom Morris of Hoylake in 1900, and are carved between the coastline’s sand dunes, and are a genuine test of seaside golf.

In 1909, the course was extended to its full length with the addition of the parkland loop mapped out by the great James Braid. The unique challenge of Pwllheli and its 6,108 yard course draws visitors back year after year, and is a fine part of any golf tour of the rugged shoreline.
