THE SPRINGS HOTEL & GOLF CLUB
Location: North Stoke, Oxfordshire, 2 miles South of Wallingford, 12 miles NW of Reading, 15 miles SE of Oxford, 52 miles West of central London OX10 6BEFlanking the River Thames, the course at the Springs also features 3 lakes, making it an extremely picturesque setting for a round of golf. Situated in no less than 133 acres of parkland, the layout was conceived by Brian Huggett MBE, a former Ryder Cup player, and measures 6,470 yards at its fullest length.
There are a number of distinctly American twangs to the course, most notably the use of sleepers around the edges of the bunkers and lakes. There are also interesting features like a double green, while the striking par-3 8th is arguably the designer's signature.
The charming clubhouse blends harmoniously with the Tudor styling of The Springs Hotel, and will welcome golfers warmly upon completion of your round.
The Springs Hotel is a magnificent Tudor construction that was originally built in 1874, and sits proudly above its beautifully manicured gardens. Like the façade, the interior is quintessentially English, where rich oak-panels bedeck the public areas, while the bedrooms have retained the character and charm of the building's history.
There are 3 en-suite guest rooms at the Springs, all of which combine this character with modern amenities to maximise comfort, while some are complete with balconies that afford outstanding views across the lake.
Packed full of character, the Springs is an extremely interesting choice of venue for your next golf break in the South.
The Springs Hotel has its own heated outdoor swimming pool and a sauna, while guests can also try their hand at coarse fishing and croquet.
The Springs' has an enviable location on the banks of the Thames to London's West, in between Reading and Oxford.
On the 18th tee you have a choice of two fairways to aim for - one on each side of the listed copse that stands proudly in the middle.
The Springs has two bridal suites and one four-poster bed.
The Lakeside Restaurant has been awarded a prestigious second AA Rosette, and prides itself on its fine cuisine and extensive wine list.
