Golfing legend Arnold Palmer, the creator of the golf course at Tralee, has famously said that "I may have designed the first nine, but surely God designed the back nine."

Any lucky visitor to Tralee's links will understand exactly what Arnie means. This is truly the most spectacular piece of land, and the golf course reflects that. Opened in 1984, Tralee was the first course in Europe built by the now established Palmer Design Company.
As the Atlantic Ocean batters relentlessly at the course's fringes, golfers must negotiate 18 marvellous, distinct holes, each cut through the towering, rugged dunes. Palmer has used his extensive experience to appreciate the land as it exists, and sympathetically used the terrain to create the fantastic test of golf that Tralee boasts today.
Tralee is by no means easy, but visitors are consistently charmed by the unfussy, traditional links; any golf tour in Ireland's south-west should encompass what is already a classic.
