The National Golf Club Challenge – 24th July 2010
On the weekend of the 24th & 25th July 2010 – a week after the Open Championship at St. Andrews – the largest amateur golf event the UK has seen will take place.
The National Golf Club Challenge will see hundreds of golf clubs from across the UK compete for fantastic golfing prizes and to raise funds for the excellent Help for Heroes charity.
Nick Dougherty – European Tour Player is lending his support to the challenge:
“Help the Heroes is a charity close to all of our hearts, the service men and women risking their lives every day are unsung heroes and the National Golf Club Challenge is a great way to raise money for those injured at war. The Challenge gives us all a chance to do our bit to help our injured heroes and I urge you to enter your team now.”
Nick, who started his golfing career at Shaw Hill Golf and Country Club, joins other high profile golfers backing the National Golf Club Challenge, including Ian Poulter. The challenge has also received messages of support from Gary Lineker, Gabby Logan, Chris Hollins, Alan Hansen and more.
With new golf clubs signing up for this great event almost daily we are expecting thousands of golfers to be competing over the 24th & 25th July as they do battle to become the National Golf Club Challenge Champions for 2010 – and help raise an enormous amount of money for the Help for Heroes charity.

Great to see so many people getting behind this great event. Best of luck with it and hope it has continued success.
Going to call my golf club secretary tomorrow and make sure he gets our club involved next year. This should be a great event – I urge all golfers to get involved.
