Just got back from Wyboston Lakes so thought we’d send on our feedback. This was our first golf trip away and the guys at Your Golf Travel were superb, they were exceptionally friendly, not pushy and were keen to make sure we got what we wanted.
Wyboston Lakes was very easy to find and was set in a very beautiful location with lots of lakes surrounding it. The course looks very tricky and tight according to their pictures on the website but I would say it was a little more forgiving than we first feared and we found it perfect. It allows for risk reward shots from the big hitters and good quality technical play from the more conservative.
We are still fairly new to golf so were a little apprehensive about how we would be received (especially if we started hitting a few classic slices and hooks) but we were pleased to say there were no pretentious people and we felt very comfortable and welcome.
Neither of us have an official handicap as of yet but would expect to be placed around the 22 mark if we did, we managed to get our score card down from 96 on the first day to 89 on the last so this was very pleasing. The course is 72 par and everything is kept very nicely and the greens were excellent.
The accommodation was superb, very clean, comfortable and the hotel staff were excellent.
The 19th hole was really lovely, overlooking the large lake and fountain. The staff here could not be more friendly if you asked. Prices were not sky high and a good meal was around £20 per head with drinks being an average £3.00 with plenty to choose from.
My overall verdict would be wonderful setting, very good quality course and beautifully kept greens, exceptional staff and service, slightly busy because of the offer they have but people were patient 9.5 out of 10 but am struggling to say where the extra .5 could be regained.
Would we book again? I have just got off the phone with Bradley and are now booked in again for the start of September at Wyboston Lakes again, the weeks will not go quick enough.
